Opening hours

The venue opens at 2PM on Thursday. Venue closes everyday at 10 PM. On Friday to Sunday, the venue will open at 7.30 AM. If you want to get in after or before the opening hours you will have to call the guard. The number you have to call will be shown on the door.

Sleeping at the venue (FREE!)

It will be possible to sleep at the venue free of charge. This will be possible between Thursday evening and Sunday morning. Please remember to bring all you will need such as a sleeping bag, pillow, etc.
Showers will be available in the venue.

Hotel

The closest hotel is Scandic Hvidovre. It is located about a 30 minute walk from the venue.
Otherwise, there are several hotels in central Copenhagen.

Entrance

There are two entrances to the gymnasium. On the picture below, you can see the entrances circled. The larger circle is the parking lot. The smaller circle is the entrance you probably will use if you’re coming from Avedøre station.

You will be able to find the live results on WCA Live when the competition starts. We always try to get the results up as quickly as possible, but we prioritise making sure the competition runs smoothly and according to the schedule. Remember the results on WCA Live are not final, and changes might occur before they are published to the WCA site.

The link to the specific WCA Live page can be found here:

https://live.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions/NordicChampionship2019

Plane
You can fly to Copenhagen Airport (CPH) which is located rather close to the venue. From the Airport, you can take several regional trains to Copenhagen Central Station. The regional trains should be going towards either Helsingør Station., Nivå Station. or Østerport Station. These depart about every 8th-12th minute. You can also take a Taxi from the Airport, however this will be rather expensive.
Public Transport
From Copenhagen Central Station you can take an S-Train with the 'A' line going towards Hundige, Køge or Solrød Strand and then jump off at Avedøre Station. From there you will have to walk about 5 minutes.
For a more suited route for you, you may have a look at the journeyplanner.

Car
You should be able to find plenty parking options in a 500 meter radius around the venue. There are parking spaces just outside of the venue however space is limited.

Around 200 to 400 meters away (around 2-4 minutes) from the venue there are several options:
Netto: Open from 8 AM to 9 PM every day.

Kube Ninja
They will be sponsoring cash prizes for a sum of 3000DKK (~400€) to podium finishers from the Nordic countries. Kube Ninja will be present during the competition so you can try and buy new cubes if you need new equipment during the competition.
The prize distribution can be found below. All prices are in DKK:

Michelsen Chokolade
They will be sponsoring all '.00-Chocolate times'.

All competitors must have read the WCA Regulations.
We will have a quick run down before the first event, and explain how to compete and judge. There will be a demonstration by some of our most experienced cubers. You can find out when this will happen in the schedule tab.

You must be registered for this competition online in order to compete! You can register here. Your registration is complete, when you see your name among the other competitors (here).

New competitors must bring a valid identification card, to confirm their identity at the competition. A passport is good example since it shows your date of birth, and country of representation.

You are expected to help during the competition. For each event you participate in, you will then need to judge at least one other group in the same event. If you see an empty spot for a judge at a solving station, please take it! This helps the competition run a lot smoother!

Every time there is blindfolded event, there has to be complete silence! It requires a lot of concentration, so please be silent. If you need to talk or make noise, please leave the venue room where people are solving to do so.

No flash photography in the entire venue! Flash is distracting to the competitors. However pictures without the use of flash are allowed.

You are allowed to film your official attempt, as long as the camera's screen is either off or is out of sight.

All spectators must remain at least 1,5 meters away from every solving station.

When a round is in progress, then all competitors in the current group must wait in the competitor waiting area, until they get called up to solve.

You are not allowed to talk about the scrambles until the round is done! Otherwise, you might get disqualified.

You only need to be present, when you have to compete, in the events you are registered for! We recommend that you are present half an hour to an hour before your first event, since the schedule might change. If you can only be present one of the days, then you can only compete in the events on the given date. If you would like, you can write which day(s) you are coming, in the note, when you sign up for the competition.

When we approach the competition date, you will receive an email. It will contain some changes that might have happened. It will also contain more ‘up to date’ information, which you might need.

Alle deltagere skal have læst WCA regelsættet.

Du kan tilmelde dig her.

The link to your individual groups can be found here.
These assignments apply only for first rounds of events. We are relying on volunteer staff for subsequent rounds! Additionally, if you see an empty judging station, please help and judge!
If you are not planning to be present for a day where you have been assigned judging tasks, please just ignore it!
Upon checking-in at the venue, you will also get a physical copy of your groupings.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a combined round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
