Information

This competition features easy and popular events, making it perfect for newcomers.

First Time Competitors:
All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. There is a video here for a basic rundown of a competition.

Registrations will be accepted based on the following:

  • 50% of spots, as defined by the competitor limit, are reserved for new competitors.
  • Initially, 50% of spots, as defined by the competitor limit, are available for returning competitors on a first come, first serve basis.
  • If greater than 50% of new competitors register before 50% of spots are filled by returning competitors, any additional new competitors will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis alongside returning competitors.
  • If the spots reserved for new competitors are not filled by new competitors before registration closes two weeks prior to the competition, remaining spots, up to the competitor limit, will be accepted from registered returning competitors.

Judging:
All competitors are expected to help at this competition. We will have a judging tutorial at the beginning of the day. All competitors will be assigned to judge 1 group of each of the events they are competing in. There will also be draw prizes throughout the day to encourage competitors to stay after their round is done.

Mystery event:
There will be a mystery event at lunch. You only need to know how to solve a 3x3 to participate.

4x4
There will be no cutoff for 4x4 at this competition. The cumulative time limit is 20 minutes. You may take over 10 minutes to do a single solve if you let your judge know beforehand. 4x4 is scheduled such that overflow into lunch is acceptable so everyone can get results.

We ask attendees to limit themselves to one guest per competitor if possible so that we do not go over capacity limits for this venue which is 160 people.
Attendance is not required for the entire competition, however please arrive at least 15 minutes before your event's planned start time.
Please bring your own cubes for the events you are competing in.

Notice of Filming and Photography:
Attendees of Speedcubing Canada competitions consent to their images being used by Speedcubing Canada and its partners in marketing materials, social media and other digital platforms.
