ACLARACIONES

El primer día estará dedicado a las categorías silenciosas (Fewest Moves Challenge, 4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5 Blindfolded y Multi-Blind), mientras que el segundo y tercer día se llevarán a cabo el resto de las categorías oficiales.

Además de la competencia oficial, los participantes podrán disfrutar de actividades paralelas como categorías no oficiales, mural colaborativo de cubos, mural de firmas, photobooth temático, bingo del torneo y otras actividades pensadas para fomentar la convivencia entre competidores de Guatemala y otros países.

CÓMO LLEGAR AL LUGAR

Si llegan caminando, toman como referencia el parque central de La Esperanza y se dirigen hacia el edificio de la municipalidad, siguen en la cuadra siguiente a esa a mano izquierda (como dirigirse a la cuadra detrás del parque central).
Si llegan en vehículo, deben buscar parqueo en los lugares aledaños o frente al salón y dirigirse al lugar.

Hay parqueo frente al salón municipal pero es limitado. Quienes no consigan lugar, pueden buscar en las calles aledañas.

CLARIFICATIONS

The first day will be dedicated to the quiet events (Fewest Moves Challenge, 4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5 Blindfolded and Multi-Blind), while all remaining official events will take place during the second and third days.

In addition to the official competition, participants will be able to enjoy several side activities, including unofficial events, a collaborative cube mural, a signature wall, a themed photobooth, the tournament bingo and other activities designed to encourage interaction among competitors from Guatemala and abroad.

HOW TO ARRIVE TO THE VENUE

If arriving on foot, use the central park of La Esperanza as a reference point and head toward the municipal building; continue along the next block on the left (heading toward the block behind the central park).
If arriving by vehicle, please look for parking in the surrounding area or in front of the venue, then make your way there.

There is parking in front of the municipal hall, but it is limited. Those who cannot find a spot can look on the surrounding streets.

Todos los competidores deben:

Revisar su horario, grupos y asignaciones antes de cada ronda.
Presentarse con suficiente anticipación antes de competir.
Entregar su cubo cuando corresponda.

La convocatoria también está abierta a personas que no competirán, incluyendo acompañantes o familiares de competidores que deseen apoyar al evento.

Competitor Responsibilities

All competitors must:

Check their schedule, groups, and assignments before each round.
Arrive with enough time before competing.
Submit their puzzle when required.
Follow the instructions of judges, runners, scramblers, organizers, and WCA Delegates.
Remain quiet and respectful during blindfolded events or activities that require a quiet environment.
Make sure their scorecard is correctly completed and signed before leaving the solving station.
Take care of the venue, equipment, and event materials.

Competitors may also receive assignments such as:

Judge.
Runner.
Support in other basic functions required for the competition.

Completing these assignments and helping during the rounds is an important part of keeping the competition organized and running efficiently.

We are looking for responsible and motivated people who can help in different areas of the competition, including judging, running, scrambling, organizational support, information, unofficial events, and other tasks required during the event.

The application is also open to people who are not competing, including guests or family members of competitors who would like to help.

Eventos no oficiales

Kukulcán Open 2026 contará también con una zona especial de eventos no oficiales, que se realizará en paralelo al horario principal de la competencia oficial.

Estos eventos se llevarán a cabo en el Salón Municipal de La Esperanza – Salón Principal (Área B), en un espacio separado del área oficial. Esta zona contará con aproximadamente 4 estaciones y una mesa de scramblers para apoyar el desarrollo de las rondas no oficiales.

Importante:

Los eventos no oficiales no forman parte de la WCA.
Sus resultados no aparecerán en el perfil WCA de los competidores.
Sí habrá premiación para los 3 mejores resultados de cada evento no oficial.
Se realizarán mientras se desarrolla la competencia oficial, por lo que los horarios, cupos y formatos pueden ajustarse ligeramente dependiendo del flujo del evento y del tiempo disponible.

Unofficial Events

Kukulcán Open 2026 will also include a special unofficial events area, which will run in parallel with the official competition schedule.

These events will take place at Salón Municipal de La Esperanza – Main Hall (Area B), in a space separate from the official competition area. This area will include approximately 4 solving stations and a scramblers’ table to support the unofficial rounds.

Important:

These events are not part of the WCA.
Their results will not appear on competitors’ WCA profiles.
There will be awards for the top results in each unofficial event.
These events will take place while the official competition is running, so schedules, entry limits, and formats may be slightly adjusted depending on event flow and available time.

New Competitor Tutorial

A new competitor tutorial will be held before the official competition begins.

This session is especially recommended for participants attending their first WCA competition. During the tutorial, we will explain:

how an official round works,
how to read a scorecard,
what a judge does,
what a runner does,
how to submit your puzzle for scrambling,
what the waiting area is,
and the basic responsibilities of a competitor.

Although it is not mandatory for everyone, it is strongly recommended for new competitors.
