Welcome to the Kewbz UK Championship 2026!

This year's UK National Championship!

Please read ALL tabs before registering.

Spectators are welcome to attend for free. There's no need to pre-book - feel free to drop in whenever you wish!

Free T-Shirt: By registering and attending the Kewbz UK Championship 2026, you'll receive a Kewbz UK Championship 2026 T-shirt as a memento! Please fill in your registration comment with your T-shirt size.

Newcomers: This competition is open to first-time competitors, who will only be able to compete in 3x3, 2x2, Pyraminx, Skewb, and 3x3 One-Handed. If you would like to attempt to qualify for other events, you must do so another competition first. You can see all upcoming UK competitions here.

Qualification Requirements: If you do not meet the qualification requirements outlined in the Events tab in an official WCA competition by August 16th you will not be eligible to compete in those events. You will not be able to add events to your registration which you do not qualify for, but can update your registration if you later qualify for them. Please note that there are no qualifications for 3x3, 2x2, Pyraminx, Skewb, or 3x3 One-Handed.

Final Round Advancements: The top 8 UK competitors will be guaranteed to progress into the finals for all events. In 3x3, any non-UK competitors faster than the 8th UK competitor will compete together, before UK competitors face off in seeded pairs. In other events, all 16 finalists will compete together, with the top 8 UK competitors being joined by the 8 remaining best competitors from any region.

Fewest Moves, 4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5 Blindfolded, 3x3 Multi-Blind: These events will not be held at this competition. To compete for the national champion title for these events, you must compete at the Kewbz UK Championship FMC 2026 or the Kewbz UK Blindfolded Championship 2026. The podium winners of these competition will be awarded their prize during the awards at Kewbz UK Championship 2026.

Prizes Eligiblity: As this is the UK National Championship, only competitors who represent the United Kingdom will be eligible for prizes. The competition remains open for all nationalities to compete.

Filming and Photography: Filming and photography will take place at the event. By entering the event premises, you acknowledge that you have been informed you may be photographed and recorded for media to be used by the UKCA and its partners.

The base registration fee for this competition is £50 (British Pound).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 75% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.

Competitors may only register for events that they are already qualified for.

Make sure to register and pay for the competition to be accepted. We will not accept any on-the-spot registrations at the competition.

Once you have been accepted, you will receive a confirmation email. If registration is full by the time you pay then you will not receive this confirmation email and you will be on the waiting list. If you do not make the competitor list by August 17th at 5:00pm, then you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.

You will not be able to add any events to your registration which you do not qualify for. If you do later achieve the qualification standard for an event, you can add the event to your registration via the competition registration page. You must make any change to your registered events by August 17th at 5:00pm.

If you can no longer attend, let us know as soon as possible by contacting us. We will issue a 75% refund if you let us know before August 17th at 5:00pm, which will allow someone off the waiting list an opportunity to compete.

Q: How do I register?
A: Follow the menu bar to the Register page and carefully follow the instructions. Make sure to input your T-shirt size for your competition T-shirt as your registration comment. See the T-Shirt Sizes tab for a sizing guide.

Q: Do I have to pay extra for additional events?
A: No! Your registration fee covers you competing in as many events as you would like to and meet the qualification standard for.

Q: I am a first time competitor. Can I come here to compete?
A: Yes! This year all new competitors will be able to compete in 3x3, 2x2, Pyraminx, Skewb and 3x3 One-Handed.

Q: Can I come only to spectate?
A: Yes! All spectators and guests of competitors are able to attend for free. There is no need to pre-book - simply drop in whenever you're free!

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: Please see the Events tab for the qualification times for each event. These times must have been achieved at a WCA competition. Please note that there are no requirements to qualify for the events of 3x3, 2x2, Pyraminx, Skewb, and 3x3 One-Handed. All qualification times must be added to your registration by August 17th at 5:00pm in order to compete.

Q: What do I do if I need an accommodation in order to compete?
A: Please contact us if you need an accommodation, for example if you’re unable to compete for part of the competition due to a religious observance, or if you have a physical or medical condition that impacts your ability to compete on stage. The deadline to request accommodations is August 17th at 5:00pm, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Q: Is the schedule finalised?
A: The schedule is tentative and is dependent on final registration numbers. We might make minor changes in the leadup to the competition, but will be sure to inform you of these.

Q: What time do I need to arrive?
A: Please try to arrive at least 20 minutes before your first event to allow time to check in. New competitors please arrive with plenty of time to attend the Competing and Judging Tutorial.

Q: Do I have to be there on all days?
A: No, you only need to turn up on days you have events on. You can see what days your events are on on the Schedule tab.

Q: How do I find live results?
A: You can see live results as soon as they're entered at WCA Live.

Q: What do I do if I can no longer attend?
A: Please contact us. If you inform us you are no longer attending before August 17th at 5:00pm then you will receive a 75% refund. If this time has passed then you will receive no refund.

Kewbz UK Championship 2026 T-shirts will be available in children's sizes age 3-4 to age 12-13 and adult's sizes S to 5XL*. All T-shirts will be provided for free to all competitors.

We are excited to be returning to the Munrow Arena at University of Birmingham Sports & Fitness Centre for the Kewbz UK Championship this year! It is at the southern edge of the University Campus between Edgbaston Park Road and the A38 Bristol Road.

The Sports Hall is accessed through the western side of the building via the University South Gate entrance (the route between the building and the sports pitches on the opposite side of the access road).

The main entrance is fully disability-accessible.

Car:

The postcode for the venue is B15 2TU. Details regarding parking can be found on our parking tab.

Train:

The nearest train station is University, which is on the cross-city line between Birmingham New Street and Redditch/Bromsgrove, and is a 12-minute walk from the venue. There are direct train services from across the UK to Birmingham New Street, with the cross-city line operating four trains per hour in each direction.

Plane:

The nearest airport is Birmingham International Airport. There is a railway station at the airport with direct trains running approximately 8 times per hour to/from Birmingham New Street and taking around 10 to 15 minutes, 7 days a week, from which you can catch the local cross-city train service as per above.

Coach:

There are frequent coach services to Birmingham from London and many UK cities. The coach station is in Digbeth in the city centre, which is just a short walk from Birmingham New Street train station, from which you can catch the local cross-city train or bus services.

Bus:

The closest bus stops are directly outside the venue and are served by the 61 and 63 bus routes - the 61 and 63 run frequently throughout the day, 7 days a week. They provide a connection to Birmingham City Centre and stop directly outside Birmingham New Street train station. The full timetables are provided here:

Visiting the UK from overseas

If you are travelling from a Visa-exempt country (including USA, Canada and Australia) or from the European Union you may now need a valid Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). Holders of Irish passports or legal residents of Ireland are exempt from this requirement.

Friday on Campus is staff only, excluding the sport and fitness car park, which is £7.50 day rate for events. We have 100 of these spaces to use.

The North East Multistorey floors 1-5 are around £3.40 day rate during weekdays. 

On Saturday and Sunday, all of campus opens up to visitors, and it is a £3 day rate, with Sport and Fitness Multistorey being £7.50 day rate.

Spectators and guests of competitors are welcome to attend the Kewbz UK Championship for free. No need to pre-book - just show up and enjoy the action!

This event is the highlight of the UK cubing calendar, bringing together the country’s fastest solvers for an intense and exciting competition. Whether you're a cubing fan or just curious, it's a fantastic opportunity to witness mind-blowing solves, high-stakes finals, and the incredible skill of top competitors. Throughout the academic year, the UKCL hosts weekly competitions, where cubers from different universities compete and collaborate, making it a vibrant part of the UK cubing scene. In the 2025/26 season, we recorded an impressive 9,436 solves from 18 participating societies!

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.

Qualification

Qualification times must be set in other WCA competitions in order to compete. Qualification times must be set on or before Aug 17, 2026.
