Upon arrival, pick up your card and nametag at the reception table. At the back of your nametag, you will see your events and the group you will be competing in. In order to facilitate a smooth and efficient competition, you are expected to help either as a judge and/or scrambler. You will see your assignments at the back of your nametags. For each event you sign up for, you will be assigned either as judge or scrambler for one group of that event. If you fail to show up during your scheduled assignment, and there are not enough volunteers, you may be disqualified from competing. If this is your first time, there will be a judging tutorial before the beginning of the first event, which is 2x2x2. For the scramblers, you will be asked to help based on your competition experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the organizers, Kelly and Jackie, or the WCA delegates, Anthony and Kevin.

Please read the competitor tutorial before coming to the competition to learn about the procedures for judging and competing:

First-Time Competitors

For those who are first-time competitors- WELCOME!

Here are some important things that first-timers need to know before competing.
1. All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations and Guidelines before competing.
2. Here's a video for the basic overview of the rules:

Q: Do I use my own cubes to compete?
A: YES! You are responsible for your own hardware in order to compete and to be similarly responsible for its whereabouts at the busy competition venue.

Q: What is the competition like?
A: There will be tables where cubers can sit, discuss, and practice their cubes. The actual competition with timers, mats and displays will be set up in front of the gym. There will be a snack concession with CASH only payment. The competition is split up into groups in order to better organize who competes when. Specific cube events and their aimed for start times will be posted. It is important to listen for when your event and group is called.

Q: What do I do when I walk in?
A: There is NO CHECK-IN. If you registered online, just have fun and hang out with other cubers. We will be announcing the group, so just wait for your name/group to be announced.

Q: How do I find results?
A: All results are posted on the WCA page a couple of days after the competition finishes. However, for the day of competing, go to to find information about current events. This is also where you will find information about 2nd and 3rd rounds of events.

Q: Are there age divisions?
A: Absolutely no! All competitors compete in the same group.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?
A: ABSOLUTELY YES! Cubing is amazing, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition!

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?
A: Make sure you pay your entrance fee in order to be placed on the registered list, which will also guarantee you a spot in the competition. For this competition, you may only compete if you have registered online and paid via Stripe. No on the spot registrations and payments will be accepted.
