Cómo llegar

Tren

Alcalá de Henares cuenta con tres estaciones de Renfe Cercanías, pero la más indicada es la que se encuentra más cercana al centro de la ciudad (llamada simplemente Alcalá de Henares). Desde aquí podréis optar por andar, ya que son 20 minutos, tomar un taxi en la misma puerta de la estación, o usar las líneas de transporte urbano para llegar al recinto del evento. Si decides coger un autobús desde la RENFE, puedes elegir la línea 8 o la 10, tardando unos 15 minutos. Es menos frecuente el paso de la línea 9, pero es la más rápida, tardando unos 6 minutos y dejándote prácticamente en la puerta del recinto.

Coche

La mejor opción para llegar a Alcalá de Henares en vehículo particular es por medio de la autovía A-2 (en dirección a Zaragoza si vienes desde Madrid, o en dirección Madrid, si vienes desde Barcelona o alrededores). Existen hasta 9 entradas a Alcalá a lo largo del recorrido de esta autovía en paralelo con la ciudad, por lo que recomendamos el uso de GPS, o una planificación previa para tomar la salida correcta y no perderse en el proceso. No debería ser especialmente difícil encontrar aparcamiento, pero a unos pocos minutos andando está el Centro Comercial Alcalá Magna, donde hay aparcamiento gratuito.

How to get there

Train

Alcalá de Henares has three Renfe Cercanías stations, but the most convenient one is the station closest to the city center (simply called Alcalá de Henares). From there, you can choose to walk (about 20 minutes), take a taxi right outside the station, or use the local bus lines to reach the event venue.

If you decide to take a bus from the RENFE station, you can choose line 8 or line 10, which take around 15 minutes. Line 9 runs less frequently, but it is the fastest option, taking about 6 minutes and dropping you almost at the entrance of the venue.

Car

The best way to reach Alcalá de Henares by car is via the A-2 motorway (towards Zaragoza if you are coming from Madrid, or towards Madrid if you are coming from Barcelona or nearby areas). There are up to nine entrances into Alcalá along this motorway, which runs parallel to the city, so we recommend using a GPS or planning your route in advance to take the correct exit and avoid getting lost.

It should not be particularly difficult to find parking, but just a few minutes’ walk away you will find Alcalá Magna Shopping Center, which offers free parking.

Dónde comer

Está permitido comer en el recinto, así que bocadillos y tuppers siempre son bienvenidos. Lo que no está permitido es ensuciar, así que seamos civilizados.

Alrededor del recinto hay bares, algún kebab y tiendas de alimentación, por lo que encontrar una fuente de suministros no será tarea compleja. Por si alguno quiere comer más de restaurante, recomiendo caminar un poquito hasta el Centro Comercial Alcalá Magna, donde tendrá varias opciones en la zona de restauración.

Where to Eat

Eating inside the venue is allowed, so sandwiches and packed meals are always welcome. However, littering is not permitted, so let’s be respectful and keep the space clean.

Around the venue, you will find bars, a few kebab places, and grocery stores, so finding food nearby will not be difficult. If you prefer a more restaurant-style meal, I recommend taking a short walk to Alcalá Magna Shopping Center, where you will find several options in the food court area.

EVENTO FINAL FOUR

Speedcube Battles organizará un torneo especial entre los cuatro mejores clasificados de la final oficial de 3x3.

Este torneo se disputará bajo el formato característico de Speedcube Battles, basado en enfrentamientos directos, simultáneos y de alta intensidad.

Sistema de enfrentamiento

• En cada resolución, ambos competidores comenzarán al mismo tiempo con el mismo scramble.

• El primer competidor en completar correctamente el cubo obtendrá 1 punto.

Protocolo de inicio

• El presentador preguntará a ambos competidores si están listos.

• Tras la confirmación de ambos, se autorizará el inicio de la inspección.

• Se realizará un aviso verbal cuando hayan transcurrido 8 segundos de inspección.

• En el segundo 12 se iniciará la cuenta atrás:
  “Tres, dos, uno… ¡ya!”, momento en el que deberán comenzar la resolución.

• Si ambos competidores colocan las manos sobre el cronómetro antes de los 12 segundos, la cuenta atrás podrá iniciarse inmediatamente.

Formato de competición
Semifinales

• Se disputarán al mejor de 3 sets.

• Cada set se jugará al mejor de 5 puntos.

• El primer competidor en ganar 2 sets avanzará a la final.

Final

• Se disputará al mejor de 5 sets.

• Cada set se jugará al mejor de 5 puntos.

• El primer competidor en ganar 3 sets será proclamado campeón.

FINAL FOUR EVENT

Speedcube Battles will organize a special tournament featuring the four best competitors from the official 3x3 final.

This tournament will be held under the distinctive Speedcube Battles format, based on direct, simultaneous, and high-intensity head-to-head matchups.

Match System

• In each solve, both competitors will start simultaneously with the same scramble.

• The first competitor to correctly complete the cube will earn 1 point.

Starting Procedure

• The presenter will ask both competitors if they are ready.

• After confirmation from both competitors, inspection will be authorized.

• A verbal notice will be given once 8 seconds of inspection time have elapsed.

• At the 12-second mark, the countdown will begin:
  “Three, two, one… go!”, at which point competitors must start solving.

• If both competitors place their hands on the timer before the 12-second mark, the countdown may begin immediately.

Competition Format
Semifinals

• The semifinals will be played as a best-of-3 sets.

• Each set will be played as a best-of-5 points.

• The first competitor to win 2 sets will advance to the final.

Final

• The final will be played as a best-of-5 sets.

• Each set will be played as a best-of-5 points.

• The first competitor to win 3 sets will be declared the champion.

Nuevos competidores:

Si es la primera vez que compites, es importante que te vayas familiarizando con el Reglamento. Este Reglamento es algo extenso, está en inglés (aunque existe una traducción al español y contiene mucha información dentro, así que no te preocupes si no te acuerdas de todo. Por este motivo, aconsejamos que veas este video explicativo acerca de las normas y procedimientos básicos que hay que saber para poder asistir como competidor, así como que leas los tutoriales oficiales de la WCA de competidores y jueces o esta guía). También haremos un pequeño tutorial tal y como marca el horario, al que te recomendamos que asistas.

Los nuevos competidores tendrán que llevar un documento de identidad que verifique el país de procedencia y fecha de nacimiento. Puede ser tanto el DNI, como el pasaporte, el libro de familia, el carnet de conducir, etc. Sólo es necesario que aparezca tu nombre completo, fecha de nacimiento y nacionalidad.

Si tienes alguna pregunta, te recomendamos que consultes la pestaña de PMF antes de consultarnos a nosotros, aunque estás más que bienvenido a escribirnos al correo que aparece en la página de Información General.

Información para todos los competidores:

Por favor, ¡Ayuda a hacer de juez! Siempre terminan siendo los mismos los que hacen de juez. ¡No es nada difícil hacerlo y ayudas a que el campeonato se agilice! En las acreditaciones que se os darán con la inscripción aparecen los grupos en los que estáis obligados a hacer de juez, pero también podéis hacer de jueces aunque no os toque. Si estás interesado en aprender a hacer de juez se hará un pequeño tutorial el sábado antes de empezar.

Las fotos sin flash. Esta norma se aplica a todo el recinto, ya que distrae mucho a los competidores.

Si eres un espectador, por favor no entres en la zona de competición y bajo ningún concepto estés a menos de metro y medio de una de las mesas de competición (Regulation 7b).

Por favor, cuida el lugar, mantén la zona limpia y lo más ordenada posible.

Hay miles de puzzles en estos campeonatos, no dejes cubos en las mesas de mezclas o de competición. ¡Mantén tus puzzles juntos para que no los pierdas!

Durante las pruebas a ciegas, hay que estar en completo silencio. Estas pruebas requieren mucha concentración y cualquier pequeño ruido podría desconcentrar. Anunciaremos cuando empiece el evento y cuando se podrá volver a hablar.

Important Information:

New Competitors:

If you are a new competitor, it is important that you are familiar with the Regulations. The Regulations are very long and are quite a lot to take in so don't worry if you don't remember it all! Because of this, we recommend to watch this video that explains the competing procedure which as well as to read the WCA official competitors and judges tutorials. We will also be holding an introduction to competing as per the Schedule which we recommend you attend as well.

New competitors must bring some form of ID to show at the competition to confirm the country they wish to compete for and the date of birth registered with. The usual items of ID that people bring are Passports, Birth Certificates, Driver's Licenses, etc. As long as it has your name, date of birth, and country, then it will be fine.

If you have any questions, we recommend that you check the FAQ in case it has been asked before. But you are more than welcome to contact us at the link on the General Info page.

Information for All Competitors:

Please help judge! We rely very heavily on regular competitors to make the competition run to schedule. It is not very difficult to do and you help to do the championship faster!. If you'd like to learn the procedure then we will explain it in a tutorial the saturday before starting.

No flash photography under any circumstance within the venue. It is extremely distracting for competitors.

If you are a spectator, please stay 1.5m away from competitors at all times as per Regulation 7b.

Please treat the venue with respect, put all of your rubbish in bins or black bin bags and keep the area clean.

There are thousands of puzzles at these events, make sure to keep yours together so you don't lose them!

During blindfolded events, please stay silent within the venue. These events require a high amount of concentration and any noise can be distracting. We will announce when the silence will begin and when you may talk within the venue again.

Preguntas frecuentes

P: ¿Cómo me registro?
R: En primer lugar tienes que asegurarte de que tengas creada una cuenta de la WCA. Si no es así, se puede hacer de manera muy sencilla haciendo click en "registrarse" y creándote una. Una vez hecho esto, vete a la pestaña Registro y sigue los pasos correspondientes.

P: ¿Por qué no aparezco en la lista de competidores?
R: Por favor, asegúrate de haber seguido todas las instruciones de la pestaña Registro. También es posible que estés en la lista de espera. El limite de competidores puedes verlo en la página Información General y la lista de competidores en Competidores. Si crees haber hecho todo correctamente y aun así no apareces, ten paciencia. Los registros se aprueban de manera manual y los Delegados y organizadores no están disponibles en todo momento. Si tu registro no se ha aceptado pasados dos días, mándarnos un correo.

P: Es mi primera competición, ¿qué tengo que hacer?
R: Como nuevo competidor deberás de familiarizarte con el Reglamento de la WCA. El reglamento oficial está en inglés americano aunque existe una traducción al español y adaptaciones (como este vídeo, los tutoriales oficiales de la WCA de competidores y jueces o esta guía). Ante cualquier duda no dudes en preguntar al Delegado de la WCA o a los organizadores.

P: ¿Puedo cambiar los eventos a los que me presento?
R: Sí. Puedes editar tu registro aquí hasta el cierre del registro.

P: Ya no puedo asistir, ¿qué debo hacer?
R: Lo primero que tienes que hacer es informarnos vía email tan pronto como lo sepas para que otro competidor pueda ocupar tu lugar.

P: ¿Cómo de rápido tengo que ser para poder competir?
R: Te recomendamos que mires la pestaña de categorías para informarte de los tiempos límite de cada prueba. La mayoría de gente va a las competiciones para conocer a gente con la que comparten esta afición sin importar los tiempos o sencillamente a tratar de mejorar sus propios tiempos personales, ¡todo el mundo es apto para competir y pasarlo bien!

P: ¿Hay categorías para diferentes edades?
R: Todos los competidores participan en las mismas condiciones y participantes de todas las edades son bienvenidos. La mayoría de gente suele tener unos 15-20 años, pero también hay gente más joven y más mayor.

P: ¿Tengo que usar mis propios cubos para competir?
R: ¡Sí! Asegúrate de traer puzzles para todos los eventos en los que compitas y no los pierdas de vista.

P: ¿Puedo ir simplemente como espectador?
R: Sí, además la entrada es completamente gratuita para los espectadores. Echa un vistazo al horario del campeonato para que puedas venir a ver los eventos que más te interesen o enterarte de cuando son las finales.

P: ¿Cúando debo estar en el campeonato?
R: Recomendamos que te inscribas dentro de los plazos de inscripción que hay asignados en el horario. Si eres un nuevo competidor, puedes ver el tutorial para competidores. También hay que estar siempre al menos 30 minutos antes de que empiece cada ronda en la que compitas por si hay adelanto.

P: ¿Qué debo hacer cuando llegue?
R: Lo primero que hay que hacer es ir a la mesa de registro para que te podamos dar la acreditación.

P: ¿Debo estar durante todo el campeonato?
R: Sólo es necesario que estés cuando tengas que competir o hacer de juez/runner/mezclador.

P: ¿Dónde miro los resultados y si paso a la siguiente ronda?
R: Los tiempos y clasificaciones de la competición se subirán a esta página unos días después de la competición. Los resultados en directo los encontrarás en WCA Live. Las clasificaciones NO son definitivas hasta que no se haya terminado la ronda por completo.

P: ¿Cómo puedo saber los grupos en los que compito o colaboro?
R: Os enviaremos un correo informativo pocos días antes de la competición. Además, para ver los grupos de competición de todas las rondas y la asignación de tareas solo de las primeras rondas se puede consultar Competition Groups. Os recordamos que esta página web es sólo para consultar los grupos de competición pero no el horario, el único horario oficial es el que podéis encontrar aquí.

FAQ

Q: How do I register?
A: First you need to make sure you have created a WCA account. You can do this by going to the sign-up page and creating an account. Once you have created the account and confirmed your email address, go to the Register section and follow the instructions carefully.

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?
A: Please make sure that you have followed the instructions in the Register section. You could also be on the waiting list. The competitor limit can be found on the General Info page, and you can see the number on accepted competitors on the Competitors page. If you have done everything correctly and the competition is not full then just be patient. We have to manually approve registrations and the organisers aren't available all the time. If you believe you have followed the steps correctly but still are not on the registration list after 2 days, then feel free to email us at the contact link on the General Info page.

Q: It is my first competition. What do I have to do?
A: As a new competitor you should familiarize yourself with the WCA Regulations. The official regulation are in American English and there are also some translations and guides (such as this video or the WCA official competitors and judges tutorials). If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask it to the WCA Delegate or to the organizers.

Q: Can I change the events I am registered for?
A: Yes. You can edit your registration here until the end of the registration period.

Q: I am no longer able to attend, what do I do?
A: The first thing you need to do is tell us as soon as you know via the contact link on the General Info page. Competitions generally fill up quite quickly and letting us know that you can't attend means we can add someone from the waiting list. We cannot offer refunds if you can no longer attend as paying the registration fee is a commitment contract, but if you don't notify us you might be penalized.

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: We recommend that you check out the events tab - if you can make the time limit for the events you want to compete in, then you're fast enough! Loads of people come to competitions just to beat their own personal bests, and meet likeminded people, with no intention of winning or even making it past the first round.

Q: Are there different age categories?
A: All competitors compete on the same level and all ages are welcome. In general most are aged 10-20 but we have plenty of regulars who are older or younger than this!

Q: Do I use my own cubes to compete?
A: Yes! Make sure to bring cubes for all events you are competing in and look after them, you don't want them to go missing.

Q: Can I come only to spectate?
A: Yes! Spectating this competition will be free for everyone. Take a look at the schedule to come to see the events you are more interested in or to know when the finals are happening.

Q: When do I arrive at the competition?
A: We recommend you to register on the time frames dedicated to that regard, which you can find on the schedule tab. If you are a new competitor, you can watch the competitor tutorial. You also have to turn up at least 30 minutes before each event you compete at.

Q: What do I do when I arrive?
A: The first thing you do when you arrive is find the registration desk if registration is open.

Q: When can I leave the competition?
A: It's only necessary to stay when you have to compete or be a judge/runner/scrambler.

Q: How do I find results?
A: All the results will be found on this page a couple of days after the competition, once they have all been checked and uploaded. If you are looking for live results, they can all be found on WCA Live.

Q: How can I know the competition groups and tasks assignment?
A: We will send you an email a few days before the competition. Moreover, in order to see the competition groups for every round and tasks assignmnt only for first rounds you can visit Competition Groups. We remind you that this website is just to check the competition groups but not the schedule, the only official schedule is the one you can find here.

Lista de espera

Si el límite de competidores se llena, la gente que se registre y abone la cuota de inscripción entra en la lista de espera, que se puede consultar aquí. Si se quedase libre una plaza, ésta será concedida al primero de la lista de espera. Si estás en lista de espera y sabes que ya no puedes acudir, por favor elimina tu registro y se te devolverá el importe íntegro de la inscripción. Si tras cerrar el registro no has entrado por lista de espera, se te devolverá la cuota íntegra de inscripción.

Waiting list

If the limit of competitors fills up, people who register and pay the registration fee will be put on the waiting list, which can be consulted here. If a spot becomes available, it will be given to the first on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and know that you can no longer attend, please delete your registration and your registration fee will be refunded in full. If after closing your registration you have not been waitlisted, your full registration fee will be refunded
