English
The Captains' Cup will be an unofficial event held for the first time in our country. The “Captains” will be the eight (8) participants with the best official average in the 3x3x3 category who are registered for the championship.
Captains’ Cup Rules
- The tournament will be played in a single-elimination format, with a total of eight (8) teams, each consisting of three (3) players.
- Each team must include one (1) captain, who will serve as the team’s representative.
- The remaining two (2) members of each team will be selected and assigned at random through a draw. This draw will be conducted from a pool or list consisting exclusively of the following sixteen (16) participants with the best official average in the 3x3x3 category who are duly registered for the championship.
- Although this is an unofficial event, the official WCA rules will be followed, as well as its standard penalties, which include misalignment, stopping/restarting the timer, inspection time, and others.
- This competition will feature an added challenge that will be revealed on the day of the event.
- During the competition, team members will solve a 3x3x3 cube one after another. Therefore, there will be three timers, three cubes, and three competitors at the table. The second and third stopwatches will start only when the previous participant has finished solving the cube and returns both hands to the stopwatch, stopping it.
- The inspection period will be simultaneous for all three team members. After 12 seconds, they must place their cube on the mat and keep both hands on the timers. The official start for both competing teams will be signaled by the judge or the official announcer.
- While the first team member is solving the cube, the second and third members must keep their hands on the timers. This same rule applies to the third participant while the second is solving their cube; otherwise, a DNF penalty will be imposed.
- The remaining team members may continue to inspect the cubes while their teammates are solving, provided they keep their hands on the timers.
- The winning team will be the one with the lowest total time, which is the sum of the three individual times. In the event of a tie in total times, the best individual solve will be used to determine the winning team.

Puzzles no permitidos

🧩 About Puzzles
Responsibility
You are responsible for bringing your own puzzles to compete with. Make sure you have them ready when called.
Permitted Puzzles
- ✅ Standard puzzles (solid colors, stickers, or stickerless)
- ✅ Puzzles with lubrication, magnets, or internal modifications
- ✅ A logo on a center piece (or specific pieces depending on the puzzle)
Prohibited Puzzles
- ❌ Electronic puzzles (smart cubes)
- ❌ Puzzles with carbon fiber finishes that hide colors
- ❌ Puzzles with transparent parts that reveal information
- ❌ Puzzles with textures that distinguish pieces (for blindfolded events)
- ❌ Puzzles with broken or severely damaged pieces
Take Care of Your Puzzles
Put a distinctive mark on your puzzles (e.g., a mark under a center piece, a colored band, or store them in a bag/case). It is very common for competitors to mix up their puzzles with others, as many look alike.
Don't leave puzzles unattended: Do not leave your puzzles on the mixing tables or solving stations. Always keep them with you or in your backpack.
⏱️ During the Competition
Groups and Calls
- Each round is divided into groups to make the competition more efficient. Check your badge to know which group you belong to for each event.
- Groups will be called in order. When you hear your group called, you must go immediately to the station with your solved puzzle.
- There will be a final call for each group. If you do not show up after this call, you may miss your opportunity to compete in that event.
- We recommend being in the competition area at least 15 minutes before your group's estimated time.
During Solves
- Silence: Especially during blindfolded events, total silence is required. Any noise can distract competitors. We will announce when each silence period begins and ends.
- Distance: Spectators must stay at least 1.5 meters away from the solving tables (Regulation 7b).
- Photos without flash: Using flash is prohibited throughout the venue, as it greatly distracts competitors.
- Communication: While a round is in progress, do not discuss the scrambles or your solutions with other competitors in the same group.
