V-Cubes is proud to bring back cubing competitions to Spiel Messe in Essen!
Note: V-Cube Spiel A 2023 is a series competition to V-Cube Spiel B 2023 on the same weekend. Please note that you may only register for one of the two competitions.V-Cubes ist stolz darauf, wieder Speedcubing-Turniere auf der SPIEL Messe in Essen präsentieren zu dürfen!
Wichtig: V-Cube Spiel A 2023 ist eine Partner-Competition von V-Cube Spiel B 2023, die am gleichen Wochenende stattfindet. Bitte beachte, dass du dich nur für eines der beiden Turniere anmelden darfst.
To participate in this competition, you must have a ticket for Saturday at the Essen Spiel Messe exposition. This ticket needs to be bought individually and is not included in the registration fee.
The competition will take place at Hall 5, Booth 5A108. You can see the site plan of Messe Essen here.If you are a new competitor, take a look at the corresponding tab. All competitors should be familiar with the information in the tab.
Um an diesem Wettbewerb teilnehmen zu können, brauchst du ein Ticket für den Samstag der Essen Spiel Messe. Dieses Ticket muss individuell erworben werden und ist nicht im Eintrittspreis enthalten.

This competition is part of the V-Cube Spiel 2023 Competition Series. Other competitions in this Series are: Note: You can submit a registration for all competitions in a Series, but only one of those registrations can be confirmed and accepted. You will only be allowed to compete in one of the Series competitions!
There is a competitor limit of 35 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is €7.50 (Euro).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until by contacting the organization team.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.

Falls du keinen freien Teilnehmerplatz mehr erlangen solltest, wird die Anmeldegebühr selbstverständlich erstattet .

Newcomer information
If this is your first WCA competition, please pay attention to the following:
- According to Regulation 2e), all newcomers are required to bring some form of identification document that shows name, citizenship and date of birth.
- Every competitor should have read the official WCA Regulations at least once before attending the competition! In addition, a more condensed version of the important regulations can be found at the WCA Competition Tutorial. We also recommend this video guide for a more visual impression.
- Note: Unfortunately, time available at this competition is rather limited, so there will not be a dedicated newcomer tutorial and there will also not be as much opportunity to test the competition equipment (the Stackmat timer) and discuss the rules if you have questions at the competition. If you have any questions before the competition, please feel free to contact the competition organizers.

Informationen für Neulinge
Falls dies dein erstes WCA Turnier sein sollte, beachte bitte die folgenden Punkte:
- Alle Neulinge sind dazu verpflichtet, ein Ausweisdokument an der Anmeldung vorzuzeigen (Regulation 2e)). Aus dem Dokument müssen Name, Nationalität und Geburtsdatum hervorgehen.
- Jeder Teilnehmer sollte bereits vor der Meisterschaft mindestens einmal die offiziellen Regeln der WCA gelesen haben. Zusätzlich ist ein Blick in unsere Teilnehmer-Anleitung sowie das WCA Competition Tutorial für alle Neulinge empfehlenswert. Zusätzlich bietet zum Beispiel auch dieses Video-Tutorial einen guten unterstützenden Einblick.
- Achtung: Leider ist die zur Verfügung stehende Zeit bei diesem Turnier sehr begrenzt, weshalb es keine separate Teilnehmer-Einführung gibt. Ebenso ist die Möglichkeit, sich mit dem offiziellen Equipment (Stackmat-Timer) vertraut zu machen und Fragen aller Art vor Ort zu stellen, eher begrenzt. Bei Fragen vor dem Turnier kannst du dich aber natürlich gerne an das Organisationsteam wenden.

Arrival
Travelling to SPIEL
By car
If you travel by car, please use the following address for your navigation system: Messeplatz 1, 45131 Essen (former Norbertstr. 2).
You will reach the fairground of MESSE ESSEN via the major Rhine-Ruhr motorways A52, A3, A40 and A42. The signs for the exhibition centre will guide you easily to the fairground where you find around 7.000 ample parking spaces (P1, P2, P3, P5, P9, P10, Parking for disabled on P6). From there, you can reach the fairground easily on foot or with the exhibition centre bus. P2 and P10 will be approached by the centre bus each 15 to 20 minutes.
Parking is open from 08.00 a.m. and is charged with EUR 6,– per day.
By rail
Public transportation (Underground line U11) takes you directly to the exhibition entrances Messe South (in front of hall 1), Messe West (in front of hall 3) and Messe East (in front of hall 8). If you want to enter the fair via Hall 8, we recommend the stop “Messe Ost”. If you would like to come via the other two entrances to Hall 1 or 3, please travel to the “Messe West/Süd” stop.
From the ideally connected Essen Central Railway Station you can reach SPIEL in only 5 minutes with the Underground line 11. Here you will find the schedule of U11.
By Plane
Düsseldorf Airport is only 20 minutes’ drive from the Essen exhibition grounds and is also well-connected by rail. There is a separate information counter for MESSE ESSEN in the middle of the arrivals level of Terminal B.
The Essen/Mülheim Airport is available in addition to the Düsseldorf Airport. From there, MESSE ESSEN can be reached in 10 minutes by car or taxi.

Wie komme ich zur Messe?
Mit dem Auto
Bei Anreise mit dem Auto zur SPIEL kann man folgende Adresse ins Navigationssystem eingeben: Messeplatz 1, 45131 Essen (ehemals: Norbertstraße 2, 45131 Essen).
Über die Autobahnen A52, A3, A40 und A42 gelangt man direkt zum Messegelände, die Messe Essen ist zudem ausgeschildert.
Rund um die Messe stehen ca. 7.000 Parkplätze zur Verfügung (P1, P2, P3, P5, P9, P10, Behindertenparkplatz: P6). Von dort erreicht man das Messegelände entweder zu Fuß oder mit dem Shuttlebus. Die Parkplätze P2 und P10 werden im Durchschnitt alle 15 bis 20 Minuten von Shuttlebussen angefahren. Die Parkplätze sind täglich ab 08.00 Uhr geöffnet und kosten EUR 6,– pro Tag.
Mit der Bahn
Mit der Linie U11 kann man direkt zu den Eingängen West, Süd und Ost fahren. Für das Betreten der SPIEL über Halle 8 (Eingang Ost) sollte die Haltestelle „Messe Ost“ genutzt werden und für das Betreten über die Halle 1 (Eingang Süd) oder Halle 3 (Eingang West) die Haltestelle "Messe West/Süd".
Vom Essener Hauptbahnhof gelangt man innerhalb von nur 5 Minuten bis zur Messe. Den Fahrplan der U 11 zur Messe gibt es HIER.
Mit dem Flugzeug
Der Flughafen Düsseldorf ist nur 20 Autominuten vom Essener Messegelände entfernt und auch per Bahn bestens angebunden. In der Mitte der Ankunftsebene von Terminal B findet sich ein eigener Info-Counter der Messe Essen.
Neben dem Flughafen Düsseldorf bietet sich auch der Flughafen Essen/Mülheim an. Von dort ist die Messe Essen mit dem Auto oder Taxi in 10 Minuten zu erreichen.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
