INSTRUCCIONES PARA PARTICIPAR
Paso 1: Registro en el sitio web de la competencia en la WCA
1.- Para participar en UACh al Cubo 2026, tienes que tener una cuenta en el sitio web de la World Cube Association (WCA). Si aún no tienes una cuenta, regístrate aquí.
2.- Una vez que tengas una cuenta, inicia sesión en la plataforma y registrate en la página de la competencia aquí.
3.- Completa los datos requeridos en el recuadro inferior de la página para inscribirte en el evento y haz click en "Register!".
4.- Una vez que completes el registro correctamente te llegará un correo de confirmación y ya estarás en la lista de espera en espera de aprobación.
Paso 2: Pago
5.- Para que tu registro sea aprobado debes pagar $7.000
6.- Las instrucciones de pago se enviarán al correo registrado en tu cuenta de la WCA. Recuerda revisar tu bandeja de correos no deseados o spam. Si no recibes el mensaje tras 20 minutos, por favor ponte en contacto con el equipo organizador.
7.- La aprobación de las inscripciones se realizará respetando el orden del registro de los competidores.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARTICIPATING
Step 1: Registration on the WCA Competition Website
1.- To participate in UACh al Cubo 2026, you must have an account on the World Cube Association (WCA) website. If you don't have an account yet, sign up here.
2.- Once you have an account, log in to the platform and register on the competition page here.
3.- Complete the required information in the bottom box of the page to register for the event and click on "Register!".
4.- Once you complete the registration correctly, you will receive a confirmation email and you will be on the waiting list awaiting approval.
Step 2: Payment
5.- For your registration to be approved you must pay $7,000 CLP.
6.- Payment instructions will be sent to the email address registered to your WCA account. Remember to check your junk or spam folder. If you do not receive the message after 20 minutes, please contact the organizing team.
7.- The approval of the inscriptions will be carried out respecting the order of registration of the competitors.

| ¿Tengo que armar el cubo solo una vez al momento de competir? | Tendrás 5 intentos en cada ronda. El resultado será el promedio de estos intentos después de eliminar el mejor y el peor tiempo. |
| ¿Qué tan rápido hay que ser para competir? | Siempre y cuando logres resolver el rompecabezas dentro del límite de tiempo que aparece en la pestaña "Eventos" , serás lo suficientemente rápido para competir, asi que mucha calma! Ejemplo: Categoría 3x3, tiempo limite: 2 minutos y 30 segundos. Adicionalmente, debes tener en cuenta los tiempos de corte de cada categoría para así conseguir tu promedio Ao5. |
| ¿Qué significa que las categorías tengan corte? | La primera ronda de cada categoría, excepto la primera ronda de 3x3, tiene un corte o cutoff. En las rondas Ao5, cada competidor tiene 2 intentos iniciales. Si en cualquiera de estos dos intentos logras un tiempo menor al corte designado, podrás continuar con los 3 intentos restantes y así finalizar tu promedio Ao5. Por ejemplo, para 2x2, el corte es de 15 segundos: Caso 1: Si el competidor logra un tiempo de 8 segundos en el primer intento, puede proseguir con los 4 intentos restantes. Caso 2: Si el competidor logra un tiempo de 18 segundos en el primer intento y 11 segundos en el segundo, puede proseguir con los 3 intentos restantes. Caso 3: Si el competidor logra un tiempo de 22 segundos en el primer intento y 19 segundos en el segundo, no puede proseguir con los 3 intentos restantes. |
| ¿Debo usar mis propios cubos para competir? | Sí, usted es responsable de traer sus propios rompecabezas. Asegúrese de revisar el Artículo 3 del reglamento de la WCA y confirme que sus rompecabezas cumplen con las normas de la competición antes del evento. Algunos ejemplos de rompecabezas no permitidos son los cubos electrónicos (como Giiker, GOcube o GAN356i), los cubos con pegatinas de fibra de carbono, los cubos con más de un logotipo y los cubos con pegatinas o piezas significativamente dañadas o faltantes. |

No te preocupes si no eres lo suficientemente rápido como los demás competidores o si no consigues clasificar a las siguientes rondas en tu categoría favorita. | Is there a required age to compete? | No, everyone is welcome to compete! Most participants are between 8 and 25 years old. The only requirement is knowing how to solve the puzzle for the category you registered for. |
| Do I only have to solve the cube once during the competition? | You will have 5 attempts in each round. Your result will be the average of these attempts after dropping the best and worst times. |
| How fast do I need to be to compete? | As long as you can solve the puzzle within the time limit listed on the Events tab, you are fast enough to compete—so don't worry! Example: 3x3 category, time limit: 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Additionally, you must keep the category cutoffs in mind in order to complete your Ao5 average. |
| What does it mean for categories to have a cutoff? | The first round of each category—except for the first round of 3x3—has a cutoff. In Ao5 rounds, each competitor gets 2 initial attempts. If you achieve a time faster than the designated cutoff in either of these two attempts, you can proceed with the remaining 3 attempts to complete your Ao5 average. For example, the cutoff for 2x2 is 30 seconds: Case 1: If the competitor gets a time of 8 seconds on the first attempt, they can proceed with the remaining 4 attempts. Case 2: If the competitor gets a time of 42 seconds on the first attempt and 24 seconds on the second, they can proceed with the remaining 3 attempts. |
| Do I need to use my own cubes to compete? | Yes, you are responsible for bringing your own puzzles. Make sure to review Article 3 of the WCA regulations and confirm that your puzzles meet competition standards before the event. Examples of puzzles that are not allowed include electronic cubes (such as Giiker, GoCube, or GAN356i), cubes with carbon fiber stickers, cubes with more than one logo, and cubes with significantly damaged or missing stickers or pieces. |
| Do I need to use my own timer to compete? | No, all competition equipment (timers, displays, etc.) is provided by the organizers/WCA delegates. |
| How do I know exactly when I will compete? | To see the time for each event, check the "Schedule" tab. At the competition, you will receive a badge with your assigned group so you know which group you will compete in for the first round of each event. (Each group competes in order: group 1, then group 2, and so on). If you advance to the next round in any event, information regarding group assignments for subsequent rounds will be shared before or at the time the round begins. Make sure you know which group you are in and pay attention when groups are called throughout the day. |

Information for New Competitors (English)
If this is your first competition, you must present an identity document (or passport), as required by Regulation 2e of the WCA Regulations and Guidelines.
A Spanish version of the WCA Regulations is available; however, please note that in the event of any discrepancy between this version and the official version (in English), the official version prevails.

Competitor results are published in real-time via the integrated results system. Please consult the organizers if you have any questions.
Judge manual (in Spanish; competitors should also review this)
To encourage those making their speedcubing debut, we will award a special medal to the top 3 new competitors at this tournament. At the end of the event, the organizing team will select the three winners based on their performance in the main 3x3 event. We want to reward their enthusiasm for participating and recognize the talent of those joining the community for the first time.

¿Cómo funcionan las rondas en una competencia WCA y qué son las rondas duales?
Formato común
Normalmente una categoría se divide en varias fases, por ejemplo: primera ronda, segunda ronda y final. Todos los inscritos participan en la primera ronda y para pasar a la siguiente fase, debes quedar dentro de los mejores promedios como el "Top 10" o el "Top 75%". Si tus tiempos no logran entrar en ese grupo seleccionado, simplemente termina tu participación en esa categoría y se registran tus tiempos junto a tu lugar final en el ranking.
Rondas Duales o dobles
Las rondas duales son un formato oficial WCA que implementamos para que disfrutes mucho más de la competencia y tengas más oportunidades de registrar tiempos oficiales, especialmente en categorías que suelen ser muy rápidas. En este formato se van los nervios y la presión de quedar fuera ya que absolutamente todos los competidores tienen asegurado pasar a la segunda ronda.
¿Cómo se compite?
Todos los inscritos van a competir dos veces en la misma categoría. Primero participarán en la Ronda 1 y sin importar el tiempo que hagan, todos volverán a competir en la Ronda 2.
¿Cuál es la ventaja?
Tienes el doble de oportunidades para registrar tus resoluciones oficiales. Si los nervios te juegan una mala pasada en la primera ronda, no te preocupes porque tendrás otra oportunidad de hacer buenos tiempos en la segunda ronda.
¿Cómo se define el ranking en una ronda dual?
Se comparan tus resultados de ambas rondas y el sistema considerara tu mejor promedio. Con esa mejor marca se armará la lista final para determinar los podios o quiénes avanzan a una final única.
¿Qué categorias contaran con rondas duales en este campeonato?
Para probar esta nueva modalidad decidimos que la categoria principal contara con rondas duales es decir 3x3. El resto de categorias tendran un formato normal de clasificacion a la final. Esta información esta en la pestaña "Eventos".
What are dual rounds, and how do rounds work in a WCA competition?
Common format
Typically, a category is divided into several phases—for example, the first round, second round, and final. All registered participants compete in the first round; to advance to the next stage, you must achieve a ranking within a specific threshold, such as the "Top 10" or the "Top 75%." If your times do not place you within that selected group, your participation in that category simply ends, and your times are recorded alongside your final ranking.
Dual (or Double) Rounds
Dual rounds are an official WCA format that we are implementing so you can enjoy the competition more and have additional opportunities to record official times, especially in categories that tend to be very fast. This format eliminates the nerves and the pressure of being eliminated, as every single competitor is guaranteed to advance to the second round.
How does the competition work?
All registered participants will compete twice in the same category. First, they will take part in Round 1, and regardless of the times they achieve, everyone will compete again in Round 2.
What is the advantage?
You have twice the opportunity to record official solves. If nerves get the better of you in the first round, don't worry—you'll have another chance to post good times in the second round.
How is the ranking determined in a dual-round format?
Your results from both rounds are compared, and the system uses your best average. This best mark is used to compile the final ranking to determine the podium finishers or who advances to a single final round.
Which categories will feature dual rounds in this competition?
To pilot this new format, we decided to implement dual rounds for the main category: 3x3. The other categories will follow the standard qualifying format for the final. You can find this information on the "Events tab".

Desde el Terminal de Buses Valdivia, caminaras unos metros por la calle Anfión Múñoz, llegando así a tu mano derecha a la calle Arauco, posteriormente te dirigiras al paradero mas cercano por la misma calle y tomaras la micro 2 Santa Elvira (tal como indica la imagen 1). Finalmente debes bajarte en la calle Bueras (llegando a la Universidad) intercción calle Rudloff (como indica la imgen 2) y deberas caminar unos 6 minutos aproximadamente por calle Rudloff hasta llegar al local de competencia .
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
Advancement Condition
The number of competitors shown as advancing to the next round is the planned maximum. The actual number may be lower if there are fewer competitors than expected, or if there are ties at the boundary.
