The Tilcara Open 2026 takes place during Holy Week (Semana Santa), which is the peak tourist season in the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Tilcara usually reaches 100% hotel occupancy during these dates.

Organization Recommendation:
We strongly suggest you book your accommodation as soon as possible. If you wait to look for accommodation days before or on the day of the event, it is very likely that you will not find a place to stay or that prices will be excessively high.

Algunas categorias cuentan con un límite acumulativo (ver en Eventos), es decir, los competidores contarán como máximo con ese límite entre todos sus intentos sumados.
Los jueces deberán detener al competidor tan pronto como llegue a este límite, y no deberían dejarlo comenzar si tiene muy poco tiempo restante (regla 2k6).
Para poder calcular el límite restante de forma sencilla, los jueces pueden utilizar el aplicativo "Tiempo Límite".

Ejemplo 1 para un límite acumulativo de 5 minutos:

1er intento: 1:30.00
2do intento: 1:00.00
3er intento: 2:00.00
4to intento: ?
5to intento: ?
Quedan 30.00 segundos restantes para el intento 4 y 5 sumados (5:00.00 - 1:30.00 - 1:00.00 - 2:00.00 = 30.00).
Ya que el competidor parece promediar cerca de un minuto y medio, es evidente que no tendrá tiempo suficiente para terminar la solución del intento 4 en 30.00 segundos.
Por lo tanto, lo más probable es que consiga un DNF. En este caso, el juez no deberá dejarlo comenzar y su ronda terminaría en este momento.

Ejemplo 2 para un límite acumulativo de 5 minutos:

1er intento: 1:30.00
2do intento: 1:00.00
3er intento: 2:49.27 (INVÁLIDO)
El competidor contaba con 2:30.00 minutos para el tercer intento (5:00.00 - 1:30.00 - 1:00.00), por lo que su tercer tiempo excede el límite. El juez es el responsable de frenar al competidor tan pronto como supere el tiempo máximo (2:30.00 en este caso), por lo que el intento se cuenta como terminado en ese momento. Ya que el competidor no había resuelto el puzzle luego de 2:30.00 minutos (pues demoró 2:49.27), su intento pasa a ser DNF.
Recordemos que el juez no debería haber permitido que el competidor finalice su solución, y debe interrumpirlo tan pronto como llegue al límite.

Todos los intentos subsiguientes que no se realicen por haber llegado al tiempo límite serán registrados como "DNS" (Did Not Start).

Some events have a cumulative limit (Events), meaning competitors have a maximum time limit across all their attempts combined.
Judges must stop the competitor as soon as they reach this limit and should not allow them to start if very little time remains (rule 2k6).
To easily calculate the remaining limit, judges can use the "Time Limit" app.

Example 1 for a 5-minute cumulative limit:

1st attempt: 1:30.00
2nd attempt: 1:00.00

There are 30.00 seconds remaining for the 4th and 5th attempts combined (5:00.00 - 1:30.00 - 1:00.00 - 2:00.00 = 30.00).
Since the competitor averages around a minute and a half, it’s clear they won’t have enough time to complete the 4th attempt in 30.00 seconds.
Therefore, they are likely to receive a DNF. In this case, the judge should not allow them to start, and their round would end at this point.

Example 2 for a 5-minute cumulative limit:

1st attempt: 1:30.00
2nd attempt: 1:00.00
3rd attempt: 2:49.27 (INVALID)
The competitor had 2:30.00 minutes for the third attempt (5:00.00 - 1:30.00 - 1:00.00). Their third attempt exceeds the limit. The judge is responsible for stopping the competitor as soon as they exceed the maximum time (2:30.00 in this case), so the attempt is considered finished at that moment. Since the competitor had not solved the puzzle after 2:30.00 minutes (as it took 2:49.27), their attempt is recorded as DNF.
Note that the judge should not have allowed the competitor to complete their solve and must interrupt them as soon as the limit is reached.

All subsequent attempts not performed due to reaching the time limit will be recorded as "DNS" (Did Not Start).

🧩 Reglas: 3x3 Tandem (Team 3x3)

Formato: 2 Competidores, 1 Cubo.

El objetivo de esta categoría extraoficial es resolver el cubo en equipo, alternando el control del puzzle entre ambos participantes paso a paso. ¡La coordinación es clave!

Dinámica de Resolución:

Inicio: Ambos competidores inician con las manos en el timer (o uno de ellos, según acuerden).
Alternancia (Pase del Cubo): Cada competidor puede ejecutar una sola etapa lógica o algoritmo del método que estén utilizando. Al completar esa etapa, debe pasar el cubo obligatoriamente a las manos de su compañero para que realice la siguiente.

Prohibición: Un mismo participante NO puede realizar dos etapas consecutivas (ej: hacer la cruz y el primer par de F2L seguidos).

Final: El competidor que ejecuta el último movimiento o algoritmo es quien debe detener el timer.

Ejemplos de Alternancia:

Para usuarios de CFOP/Fridrich (Avanzado):

Participante A: Hace la Cruz. (Pasa el cubo)

Participante B: Inserta el 1° Par de F2L. (Pasa el cubo)

Para usuarios de Método Principiante (LBL):

Participante A: Coloca la primera esquina de la capa blanca. (Pasa el cubo)

Participante A: Inserta la primera arista. (Pasa el cubo)

... hasta resolver la última capa algoritmo por algoritmo.

🧩 Rules: 3x3 Tandem (Team 3x3)

Format: 2 Competitors, 1 Cube.

The goal of this unofficial event is to solve the cube as a team, passing the puzzle back and forth between partners step by step. Coordination is key!

Solving Dynamics:

Start: Both competitors start with their hands on the timer (or one of them, as agreed).
Alternating (Passing the Cube): Each competitor may execute only one logical step or algorithm of the method they are using. Upon completing that step, they must pass the cube to their partner's hands to perform the next one.

Restriction: The same competitor may NOT perform two consecutive steps (e.g., solving the Cross and the 1st F2L pair in a row is forbidden).
Finish: The competitor who executes the final move or algorithm is the one who must stop the timer.

Examples of Alternating:

For CFOP/Fridrich users (Advanced):

Competitor A: Solves the Cross. (Passes the cube)

Competitor B: Inserts the 1st F2L Pair. (Passes the cube)

Competitor A: Inserts the 2nd F2L Pair. (Passes the cube)

... and so on through OLL and PLL.

For Beginner Method users (LBL):

Competitor A: Solves the 1st corner of the first layer. (Passes the cube)

El evento se realiza en el CApEC (Sala Barbarita Cruz), ubicado en calle Belgrano 547, Tilcara.

✈️ Desde el Aeropuerto de Jujuy (Dr. Horacio Guzmán)

El aeropuerto se encuentra en la localidad de Perico, a 33 km de San Salvador de Jujuy y a 115 km de Tilcara.

Opción 1: Colectivo Urbano (Económica) 🚌 Ideal si viajas con poco equipaje y presupuesto ajustado.

• Empresa: San José (Línea Interurbana).
• Parada: Rotonda de ingreso al estacionamiento del aeropuerto.
• Frecuencia: Cada 45 minutos aprox. (Funciona de 06:00 a 22:30 hs).
• Pago: Únicamente con tarjeta SUBE.
• Destino: Debes bajarte en la Nueva Terminal de Ómnibus (Acceso Sur) para hacer trasbordo hacia Tilcara.

Opción 2: Transfers / Combi 🚐 Hay empresas de combis privadas en el hall de arribos que te llevan directo a San Salvador de Jujuy o a veces directo a Tilcara (consultar disponibilidad al llegar).

🚌 Desde San Salvador de Jujuy (Capital)

Tenés dos opciones principales dependiendo de tu prisa y presupuesto. ¡Atención! En Jujuy hay dos terminales.

A) Desde la NUEVA Terminal (Acceso Sur) De aquí salen los ómnibus de línea regulares.

• Empresas: Evelia (la más frecuente), Balut, Panamericano, Jama Bus.
• Duración: 1h 45m a 2hs.

B) Desde la VIEJA Terminal (Zona Centro) De aquí salen los Taxis Compartidos (Remises Interjurisdiccionales).

• Ubicación exacta: Calle Iguazú, subiendo unas 2 cuadras desde la calle Dorrego, justo después de pasar el Ascensor Urbano.
• Modalidad: Son autos de 4 pasajeros que salen únicamente cuando se llenan.
• Ventaja: Son más rápidos (1h 10m de viaje) y te dejan en la puerta del alojamiento o en la terminal de Tilcara.

🚶 Una vez en Tilcara

¡Es muy fácil llegar! Tilcara es una ciudad pequeña y segura para caminar.

1. Desde la Terminal de Tilcara, salí por la calle principal.
2. Caminá 2 cuadras y media derecho por la calle Belgrano (hacia el centro).
3. El CApEC estará a tu mano izquierda (Belgrano 547), justo frente a una farmacia.

🏛️ ¿Cómo encontrar la Sala dentro del CApEC? El complejo es grande, seguí estos pasos para no perderte:

1. Ingresá por la cafetería que está al frente y cruzá el patio de la misma.
2. Pasá hacia el segundo patio interno, subí la escalera y cruzá la reja.
3. Vas a ver una zona más amplia; la Sala Barbarita Cruz está arriba del todo, a mano izquierda.

✈️ From Jujuy Airport (Dr. Horacio Guzmán)

The airport is located in Perico, 33 km from San Salvador de Jujuy and 115 km from Tilcara.

Option 1: Public Bus (Budget-friendly) 🚌 Best if you have light luggage and are on a budget.

• Company: San José (Interurban Line).
• Stop: At the roundabout entering the airport parking lot.
• Frequency: Every 45 minutes approx. (Runs from 06:00 AM to 10:30 PM).
• Payment: Only with SUBE card.
• Destination: You must get off at the New Bus Terminal (Nueva Terminal de Ómnibus / Acceso Sur) to transfer to a bus to Tilcara.

Option 2: Shuttles / Transfers 🚐 There are private van companies in the arrivals hall that take you directly to San Salvador de Jujuy or sometimes directly to Tilcara (check availability upon arrival).

🚌 From San Salvador de Jujuy (Capital City)

You have two main options depending on your time and budget. Attention! Jujuy has two bus terminals.

A) From the NEW Terminal (Nueva Terminal - Acceso Sur) Regular long-distance buses depart from here.

• Companies: Evelia (most frequent), Balut, Panamericano, Jama Bus.
• Duration: 1h 45m to 2 hours.

B) From the OLD Terminal area (Vieja Terminal - Downtown) Shared Taxis (Remises Interjurisdiccionales) depart from here.

• Exact Location: Iguazú Street, going up about 2 blocks from Dorrego Street, just after passing the Urban Elevator (Ascensor Urbano).
• How it works: These are 4-passenger cars that depart only when they are full.
• Advantage: They are faster (1h 10m trip) and can drop you off at your accommodation or the Tilcara terminal.

🚶 Once in Tilcara

It is very easy to arrive! Tilcara is a small and safe town to walk around.

1. From the Tilcara Terminal, exit onto the main street.
2. Walk 2 and a half blocks straight along Belgrano Street (towards the town center).
3. CApEC will be on your left (Belgrano 547), directly opposite a pharmacy.

🏛️ How to find the Room inside CApEC? The building is large, follow these steps to find us:

1. Enter through the coffee shop at the front and cross its patio.
2. Go through to the second internal patio, go up the stairs and pass the gate.
3. You will see a wider area; the Sala Barbarita Cruz is at the very top, on the left-hand side.

🌵 Tilcara: Capital Arqueológica y Corazón de la Quebrada
Estás por visitar un lugar con más de 10.000 años de historia. • ⛰️ El Pucará de Tilcara: Es el sitio arqueológico más famoso del Noroeste. Una antigua fortaleza omaguaca reconstruida en la cima de un cerro estratégico. Caminar entre sus muros de piedra y cardones gigantes te regala la mejor vista panorámica de toda la Quebrada de Humahuaca. (Tip: Ideal ir al atardecer para la mejor luz).

• 💧 La Garganta del Diablo: Si te gusta la aventura, este trekking es obligatorio. Es una caminata de intensidad media por un sendero de cornisa que termina en una impresionante caída de agua escondida y encajonada entre paredes de roca natural. Un lugar imponente para desconectar de la velocidad del cubo.

• 🛍️ Plaza Grande y Feria: El centro neurálgico del pueblo. Aquí convergen los artesanos locales con sus tejidos, cerámicas y platería. Es el lugar perfecto para pasear, comprar recuerdos y sentir la vida local.
