In order to compete, you must have a paid admission ticket to the Midwest Gaming Classic. The Midwest Gaming Classic is a 350,000+ square foot trade show featuring over 10,000 games on free play, along with over 200 vendors and over 100 industry guests!

We encourage everyone to register for the events they want to compete in via your online registration, however you may add events to your registration up until the event has started.
On the spot registrations will be accepted for free.
Spectators can attend paying an entry fee of $30 (United States Dollar).

You cannot register in advance for this competition. Registrations will be processed in person during the event. See the Competitor Info tab for more information.

Midwest Cubing Classic - Important Information

Welcome to the Midwest Cubing Classic! This event is unique and designed to provide a fun and flexible experience for cubers of all levels. Here’s everything you need to know:

Key Differences from Other Competitions

Unlike most competitions, Midwest Cubing Classic does not require early registration or any registration fees, making it completely free to participate. The event is designed for maximum flexibility—it runs all day, so you can arrive at your convenience and we’ll place you in the next available round. This approach ensures everyone has the opportunity to join the fun without the stress of rigid scheduling.

Event Details

The competition will feature multiple events, so it’s important to keep an eye on the schedule to know when your favorites are happening. Finals will be held for select events, and live scoring updates will help you stay informed. Since the venue is expected to be crowded, we recommend allowing extra time to navigate to the cubing area, which is tentatively planned to be near the tabletop gaming section. Additional details will be shared as they become available, so stay tuned.

Midwest Gaming Classic - Sunday Highlights

  • Reduced Ticket Cost: Sunday is Family Day, and tickets are only $30.
  • Free Entry for Kids: Children under 9 can attend for free with a paid adult ticket.
  • Convenient Parking: Free street parking is available in downtown Milwaukee on Sundays. Typically, there are ample spots south of the Baird Center.
  • *Ticket Pre-Orders: * We recommend purchasing tickets online ahead of time. Pre-order lines often open earlier and move faster. Purchase tickets here.
  • Forever Tickets: For just 10% more, purchase "forever" tickets that can be used for future events if you're unable to attend this year.

Saturday 3x3 MGC Championship

This is an unofficial compeition open to anyone at the Midwest Gaming Classic that wants to try their hand at solving a 3x3 cube. This is a fun event geared towards people that may have not yet competed officially. Staff will be on hand to to help with tips and tricks. The finals will be held at the end of the day on Saturday.

Rules and Details:

  • Saturday is not a WCA compeition
  • You may not cause intentional delays while solving
  • You must use a cube that we supply
  • Solves under 20 seconds are disquailfied

How to Participate:

  • Find the MCA booth near the table top game area
  • Ask a staff member to sign you up for the next round

We’re the largest and longest running all-encompassing gaming event. Celebrate gaming, try new things, learn about the gaming hobby, meet others who share the love of gaming, and having fun doing it! We feature retro and modern home video game consoles, pinball machines, arcade video games, tabletop RPGs, computers, tabletop board games, crane games, collectible card games, air hockey, and much more! No matter if you have one game or thousands of games in every room of your house, you’ll find something to love!

What to Play

Buy Tickets

We need a number of staff members to fill in with judging, running, scrambling, competitor check-in, data entry, and our MCA booth on Saturday and Sunday at MGC. This is a great opportunity for experienced competitors and parents to help out. Staff members will work in 'shifts' throughout the weekend and can explore the convention and compete during their time off.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
