The base registration fee for this competition is €70 (Euro).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators can attend paying an entry fee of €10 (Euro).
Competitors may only register for events that they are already qualified for.
Registration:
Registration and payment can be done at the register tab. The registration will not be complete if the payment is not done. Please note that you can only register for events you already qualify for. If you meet the requirements afterwards, after the results of that competition have been posted, you will be able to register for that event at the normal register tab
Waiting List:
If the registration list fills up, a waiting list will be put in place. If a registration is deleted, the first competitor on the waiting list will automatically be awarded a spot in the competition. You can drop out of the waiting list whenever you want and receive a full refund. No more registrations will be accepted after 2024-05-31 21:59 UTC.
Deleting your registration:
If a registration is deleted before 2024-05-19 21:59 UTC, a refund of half of the base fee will be issued. From that time, we won't be issuing refunds under any circumstances.
Notice of filming:
Be aware that filming and photography at the Rubik's WCA European Championship 2024 will be prevelant, you therefore consent to your image being used by the World Cube Association and its partners in their marketing and social media platforms by attending.

STAFF is what makes the Rubik's WCA European Championship 2024 possible. We will need help for scrambling, running, judging, managing the side rooms, entering data and handling the registration desk. There is a role available for every kind of person, even if you are not a competitor, you can be a part of the competition as a volunteer!
Being a STAFF member will be a memorable experience, and it's the perfect way to be connected to the greatest championship in 2024!
Apart from the wonderful experience, you will get the following benefits (to start with, there may be more depending on the conditions and budget):
- 4 STAFF T-Shirts, one for each day.
- A personalized bottle of water.
- Distinctive STAFF lanyard.
- Cool secret gift (Normal competitors will also be given these, but as a STAFF you will get MORE).
- Special catering, served inside of the venue (Price pending confirmation, we will try to make it reduced or free for STAFF).
- Everything included in the competitor welcome pack.
STAFF will be refunded their registration fee after the end of the championship ONLY if they perform their tasks correctly.

El STAFF es lo que hace que el europeo sea posible. Necesitamos ayuda mezclando, moviendo cubos, haciendo de juez, gestionando las salas auxiliares, introduciendo tiempos en WCA Live y gestionando la mesa de información y registros. Hay un rol disponible para cada tipo de persona, puedes ser voluntario incluso si no eres competidor! Ser STAFF será una experiencia memorable, y es la manera perfecta de estar conectada a la mayor competición de 2024!
A parte de la experiencia, tendrás los siguientes beneficios como voluntario (puede haber más, dependiendo de las condiciones y el presupuesto):

Spectators:
Spectators will be able to access the venue for 4€ a day or 10€ for the four-day ticket. 4-day tickets can be bought online here. Day tickets and 4-day tickets can also be bought at the ticket booth the days of the championship. Key dates for spectators are:
- Opening ceremony, Thursday July 26th at 14:35.
- Rubik's Nation's cup, Friday July 27th at 19:00.
- Finals day, Sunday July 28th from 12:25 on.
- 3x3 Final, Sunday July 28th at 16:45.
- Awards, Sunday July 28th at 18:30.
Registration and payment:
Registration and payment can be done in the register tab. Choose your events and complete with your payment information. Once payment has been made, an organizer will manually accept your registration. The registration will not be complete until payment has been made.
Please note that you can only register for events you already qualify for. If you meet the requirements afterwards, after the results of that competition have been posted, you will be able to register for that event at the normal register tab, as you would do for a regular competition.

Waiting List:
If the registration fill up, a waiting list will be in place. If a registration is deleted, the first on the waiting list will automatically be awarded a spot on the championship. You can remove yourself from the waiting list whenever you want and receive a full refund. No more registrations will be accepted after 2024-05-31 21:59 UTC.
Deleting Registration/Refunds:
If a registration is deleted before the 19th of May, 50% of the fee will be refunded. From that time on, no refunds will be made under any circumstance.

Live Results:
Live results can be found here. We'll do our best to update the results as soon as possible during the championship. All scorecards will be double-checked on site, so even though results are provisional, they will be almost 100% accurate.

Groups and times can be consulted at Competition Groups. The schedule is not definitive and we may start rounds up to 30 minutes in advance.

Los espectadores podrán acceder al recinto por 4€ al día o 10€ el abono de cuatro días. Las entradas de 4 días pueden adquirirse en línea aquí. Las entradas de un día y las de cuatro días también podrán adquirirse en las taquillas los días de la competición. Las fechas clave para los espectadores son
- Ceremonia de apertura, jueves 26 de julio a las 14:35.
- Copa de naciones de Rubik's, viernes 27 de julio a las 19:00.

Pago:
La inscripción y el pago pueden realizarse en la pestaña inscribirse. Elige tus categorías y completa con tu información de pago. Una vez realizado el pago, un organizador aceptará manualmente tu inscripción. La inscripción no estará completa si no se realiza el pago.
Ten en cuenta que sólo puedes inscribirte en categorías para las que ya cumplas los requisitos. Si realizas el requisito a posteriori, una vez publicados los resultados de la competición, podrás inscribirte en esa categoría a posteriori en la pestaña de registro, como lo harías para una competición normal.

Lista de Espera:
En caso de que se llene la inscripción, se creará una lista de espera. Si se suprime una inscripción, el primero de la lista de espera obtendrá automáticamente una plaza en la competición. Puedes darte de baja de la lista de espera en culalquier momento y recibirás un reembolso completo. No se aceptarán más inscripciones después del 2024-05-31 21:59 UTC.
Borrar tu registro/Reembolsos:
Si se cancela una inscripción antes del 19 de mayo, se reembolsará el 50% de la cuota. A partir de ese momento, no efectuaremos reembolsos bajo ninguna circunstancia.

These requirements may seem daunting at first, but please remember that this is a very big championship and we need to restrict the number of people competing in each event. We suggest that you attend several competitions this year to meet the qualification requirements. Cutoffs stricter than the qualification requirements will also be applied, but everyone who meets the requirements will have the chance to at least complete 1 (6x6/7x7) or 2 attempts (Pyra/2x2/Skewb).
You can only register for events you already qualify for, but you will be able to update your registration once you have fulfilled the requirement.

Estos requisitos pueden resultar sobrecogedores al inicio, pero recuerda, esta competición es muy grande y necesitamos restringir de alguna forma el número de competidores en cada una de las categorías. Recomendamos que acudas a varias competiciones este año que tengan las categorías a las que te quieras registrar. También habrá cortes, más estrictos que los propios requisitos de registro, pero todo el mundo que cumple estos requisitos tendrá la oportunidad de hacer 1 (6x6/7x7) o 2 intentos (Pyra/2x2/Skewb) como mínimo.
Solo puedes registrarte en categorías en las que cumples las calificaciones actualmente. Aún asi, podrás actualizar tu registro si superases la marca mínima en alguna competición antes del límite.
Warm Up Portugalete 2024
A 3-day warm up competition will take place in Portugalete (next to Bilbao) the week before the Rubik's WCA European Championship 2024 (19 - 21 July). This competition will hold all 17 WCA events, with many rounds and many great opportunities to warm up the week before the championship! Portugalete, Bilbao and Bizkaia are also beautiful places, much more accessible by plane than Pamplona. So getting here the week before and then traveling to Pamplona may be your best option!

Una competición de 3 días tendrá lugar en Portugalete (junto a Bilbao) la semana anterior al campeonato de Europa, (19 - 21 de julio). Esta competición albergará las 17 categorías, con muchas rondas y muchas oportunidades para calentar para el europeo! Portugalete, Bilbao y Bizkaia son también lugares preciosos, mucho más accesibles en avión, así que probablemente sea vuestra mejor opción para después viajar a Pamplona!

Getting to Pamplona by plane:
Option 1: Directly to Pamplona airport:
Pamplona Airport (PNA) is a quite small airport in the nearby town of Noáin. It has two daily flights to Madrid, and some other flights to Barcelona, Gran Canaria, Oporto or Paris. Your best way here is through a connecting flight in Madrid airport (See option 3 below). To then go to the city centre, you have to book a taxi (for only 0,70€) using this telephone number: 948 232300 / 948 351335.
Option 2: Through Bilbao (+ Warm Up Portugalete):
Bilbao Airport (BIO) has many different destinations, to almost all countries in central Europe. This is a great option, as Bizkaia is quite a popular tourist destination, as well as having the chance to compete at the Warm Up competition in Portugalete the weekend before!
To go to Bilbao from the airport, get the A3247 Bizkaibus bus. The bus runs every 20 minutes all day long and tickets are available on site, there may also be an option to pay contactless on the bus as well. If you want to go to Pamplona straightaway, get off at the last stop. You'll be at Bilbao's main bus stations, then, take a Cuadrabus bus (More info about the bus below)
Option 3: Through Madrid or Barcelona:
Madrid:
Madrid Barajas (MAD) airport is the main transport hub of the country. After getting here, you have three options, which can be summarised into:
- Getting an ALSA bus to Pamplona, explained below.
- Getting a connecting flight to Pamplona (Option 1 above)
- Getting a RENFE train to Pamplona, explained below.
Barcelona:
Barcelona El-Prat Airport (BCN) is the second largest airport in Spain. If you choose to travel via here, you have a couple of options, which can be summarised into:
- Getting a MONBUS bus to Pamplona, explained below.
- Getting a RENFE train to Pamplona, explained below.
Option 4: Through Vitoria, Santander, Zaragoza airports:
These cities also have airports with a few destinations scattered all over Europe, with flights from low-cost companies like Ryanair or WizzAir:
- Seve-Ballesteros Santander Airport (Cantabria, 250km)
- Vitoria-Gazteiz Airport (Araba, 110km)
- Zaragoza Airport (Aragón, 170km)
Getting to Pamplona by train / bus:
By bus:
There are three main bus companies that will take you to Pamplona, from the main cities around Pamplona:
ALSA: From Madrid, 9 daily buses cover this route. Keep in mind it does a small layover in Soria (They assure you are going to make it to the second bus). More information at: https://www.alsa.es/.
CUADRABUS: From Bilbao and Vitoria-Gazteiz, almost hourly buses cover this route. More information at: https://cuadrabuslineas.com/.
MONBUS: From Catalonian cities. More information at https://www.monbus.es/es.
By train:
The main train operator in Spain is RENFE. It operates daily trains to Pamplona, Zaragoza, San Sebastián, Madrid, etc. More information at https://www.renfe.com/.
There are many different types of accommodations in Pamplona. Here, you can find a variety of options to help you choose the one that fits you the best:
- Home & Co Pamplona - Student Accommodation: One of its key advantages is its proximity to the venue, situated right in front of it. The accommodation offers both double and individual rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom, and a shared kitchen. With a mid-range pricing, it stands out as one of the best available options.
- Holiday Inn Express Pamplona: Strategically located at the southern entrance of Pamplona, just 5 minutes away to the venue. One of its strongest appeals is its budget price and its proximity to La Morea shopping centre, Navarra's primary shopping area, offering numerous shops and restaurants, along with cinemas, spa, gym, bowling and more.
- Hotel Zenit Pamplona: Holiday Inn Express Pamplona, is a hotel located next to La Morea shopping centre. Hotel Zenit Pamplona is a medium-high tier 4-star hotel, with modern and more spacious rooms than the other options. The establishment offers free indoor and outdoor parking, gym, sauna, luggage storage and accepts pets for free.
- Castillo Gorraiz Hotel Golf & Spa: Situated in Gorraiz, 7 km from the venue, Castillo de Gorraiz Hotel offers luxurious accommodations with spacious rooms and a spa and massage service, providing a perfect setting for a relaxing and comfortable experience.

Format
- The Rubik's Nations Cup 2024 is an unofficial knockout tournament with a maximum of 24 teams.
- Out of the 24 teams, the 8 teams with the fastest total times will advance into the second round through a walkover. The remaining 16 teams will face each other to pass onto the second round.
- Each team consists of four members, each of whom will solve a 3x3x3 Cube, one after another. The team members will solve four 3x3x3 Cubes on four timers in a predetermined order.
- The winning team is determined by the fastest total time. In the case of a tie, the best individual solve of each team will determine the winning team.
- WCA penalties (e.g. misalignments or timer starts/stops) are applied to the solves.
- The four timers used by a team are independent and are not connected to each other. The results of each team member will be added manually and the sum will be considered as the team’s result.
Teams
- Each team consists of four members of the same nationality as determined by their nationality on their WCA profile.
- 24 teams will be selected based on the team record (Average)
- The team record refers to the sum of the members’ official WCA 3x3x3 personal record averages.
- Only European countries can form teams.
- In the case there are more than 24 countries, Top 24 by team record will be chosen.
- If there aren’t 24 countries with a team, countries can have more than one team.
Speedsolving
Inspection:
- The inspection starts at the same time for both teams and applies to all team members.
- The inspection must be started only by the judge. The judge must confirm if both teams are ready to begin the inspection before announcing the start of the inspection time.
- When 8 seconds of inspection have elapsed, the judge says “8 seconds”.
- When 12 seconds of inspection have elapsed, the judge starts a 3-second countdown. Then, all team members must place their cubes on the mat and place both their fingers on the timer sensors. The team would receive a DNF if this procedure was not followed.
Solving:
- Immediately after the countdown, the judge announces the start of the solve.
- While the first team member is solving, the rest must keep their fingers on the timers. The same applies to the third and fourth team members while the second team member is solving and to the fourth team member while the third team member is solving. * The team would receive a DNF if this was not done.
- While another team member is solving, the other team members may continue inspection as long as they keep their hands on their timer.
- The second, third and fourth team members must start the solve only after all previous team members have finished solving and have placed their hands on their timer again.

If the limit of competitors fills up, people who register and pay the registration fee will be put on the waiting list, which can be found below. If a spot becomes available, it will be given to the first on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and know you can no longer attend, please delete your registration and a full refund will be issued. If after closing your registration you have not been offered a spot, your full registration fee will be refunded.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
Qualification
Qualification times must be set in other WCA competitions in order to compete. Qualification times must be set before May 20, 2024.
