ALL COMPETITORS MUST READ THIS TAB BEFORE REGISTERING.

Before the competition, you will receive a card/nametag with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event in an email. We will be relying on competitors to help by judging whenever they are not competing. Judging is very easy and is a great way to make time fly!

We will provide a judging and competitor tutorial at the beginning of the day, as well as right before the start of 3x3. This will allow anyone with questions about how to judge or compete to be properly prepared when they are expected to help or compete!

We will need help judging for the second/final rounds of events as we can not assign staff for those in advance. Spectators are encouraged to learn how to judge; you do not need to know how to cube in order to be a judge. Having enough judges ensures that we stay on schedule and are able to leave on time.

Thank you for participating in Diamond Bar Fall 2022!

In order to make this event run as smooth as possible, please familiarize yourself with the WCA Regulations.

If this is your first time competing, it may be intimidating when you first walk in. To mitigate this, please watch this video that explains the basics of a cubing competition. Note that we may make minor changes to the flow of the competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Any changes will be explained in the competitor tutorial.

Here are some frequently asked questions:

Q: Do I use my own cube to compete?
A: Yes, and they must comply with the WCA Regulations.

Q: Can I add or remove an event from my registration?
A: Not a problem. Send us a message through the contact link, and we will gladly change the events for which you are signed up.

Q: What are cutoffs?
A: Cutoffs are times that competitors must reach within their first two solves in order to perform the remaining three solves of the average (For events like 4x4x4 and 3x3x3 One Handed in this competition). We use them because we would like to expedite the competition as much as possible while still being fair.

Q: Can I come spectate?
A: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that only competitors attend. Competitors will each be permitted to bring one guest.

Q: Do I have to be present for events I'm not competing in?
A: No. You only have to be at the venue for the events in which you are competing. Click the schedule tab for more information. With that said, we recommend that you arrive early to give ample time to practice before competing.

Q: How do I find results?
A: Live results will be available on https://live.worldcubeassociation.org during the competition. This is also where you will find if you moved onto the 2nd round of any event. Once finalized, the results are posted on the WCA competition page.

Q: What is there to do when I'm not competing?
A: There are numerous tables where people can practice and hang out with other cubers.

Q: Are there age divisions?
A: All competitors compete in the same group.

To ensure the safety of attendees, we ask attendees to follow these guidelines:

  • Attendees are highly encouraged to stay at least 3 feet (1 meter) apart for the entirety of the competition.
  • All attendees are required to wear face-coverings that cover their mouth and nose when using indoor facilities, competing, and staffing, and are recommended to wear face-coverings at all times.
  • All competitors showing symptoms of COVID-19 or who have been exposed to COVID-19 in the 2 weeks before the competition must not attend the competition.
  • We will provide hand sanitizer, masks, and disinfecting wipes to everyone in attendance, and we encourage attendees to regularly sanitize.

By registering for this competition you agree that you understand and will follow all the information listed above.

We are assigning each competitor a group for every event they are registered for. The groups you've been assigned to have been posted in the pdf below.
When you arrive, you will also receive a nametag with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event.

Staffing Assignments:

If you are a returning competitor, you have received assignments for helping with judging and running. For each event you sign up for, you will be assigned to help out for that event.

Additionally, while we will have a few designated staff members volunteering all day, we may make additional calls for help with judging, running, and scrambling throughout the day and encourage all competitors to help out in order to keep the competition running smoothly.
