INFORMATION
CubingZA is excited to announce Deep South Solving 2024! This competition is mainly focused on the less popular events, from bigger NxNs like 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7, to side events like megaminx and clock, and even blind events!
Don't forget that to participate you need to register for the competition in the "Register" tab, and make payment by buying a ticket. Please see Registration Requirements below.

MYSTERY PRIZES
We will include some fun prizes at this competition and there will be some interesting prizes to claim!

SPECTATORS
Competitors are welcome to bring 1 spectator with them. Please let us know if you need to accommodate more spectators.

VOLUNTEERING
Please note that all competitors are required to assist with volunteering during the competition - either in the role of "runner", "judge" or "scrambler". These roles will be explained as part of the "New Competitor Tutorial", but you can take a look at this video.
Note: this competition has a much smaller competitor limit, meaning most rounds will not need runners as the majority of the rounds will be done with fixed seating.

There is a competitor limit of 40 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is R150 (South African Rand).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
On the spot registrations will be accepted with a base registration fee of R150 (South African Rand).

If your registration is cancelled before April 05 2024 at 16:00 AM GMT+2 you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
We encourage everyone to register for the events they want to compete in via your online registration, however you may add events to your registration up until the event has started.
Spectators can attend for free.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Please note that there are THREE steps you need to take to be entered into this competition:
1. First-timer competitors must create a WCA account if they do not already have one (or their parent/guardian must create one for them).
2. The competitor must register for the competition using their WCA account, specifying which events they want to participate in.
3. The competitor must pay the entry fee by either

a) Bank Transfer of the appropriate amount of R150.00 to the following bank account. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE REGISTERED IN STEP 2 ABOVE PLEASE.
Name of Account: Cubing South Africa.
Bank: First National Bank.
Account number: 6308 5382 596.
Reference: Name and Surname of competitor, and "DSS". Eg. Joshua Marais DSS.

Please note: we will be handling the EFT payments manually, so it might take a few days for us to confirm your registration. If you have not recieved a notification from us saying that your registration has been approved within 3 DAYS (72HRS) of making payment, please do not hesitate to contact us. NB. Please use the full name of the COMPETITOR as your reference when making EFT payments

Daniel Rush won with an average of 52.19 seconds in the 5x5x5 Cube event. Samuel Collett finished second (1:06.84) and Maverick Pearson finished third (1:22.73).
