CubingBC and Speedcubing Canada welcome you to BC Quiet Championship 2026!
IMPORTANT NOTE 1: This competition is only hosting 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, 4x4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5x5 Blindfolded, and 3x3x3 Multi-Blind.

Everybody is welcome to compete at the second-ever BC Championship! Competitors from any country or region are invited to register, whether you’re a seasoned competitor or this is your very first competition.
The highest placing British Columbia resident in each event will be recognized as the 2026 BC Champion. Check out the BC Champion Eligibility tab for more information.
This competition is recognized as an official World Cube Association (WCA) competition. All competitors must be familiar with the WCA regulations prior to competing. If this is your first competition, please refer to the FAQ tab for helpful tips.

You only need to show up for the events that you're competing in - but we encourage you to show up for longer. Do note that we may run ahead of or behind schedule, particularly for events in the afternoon. Please be ready at least 30 minutes in advance just in case.

There is a competitor limit of 25 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $20 (Canadian Dollar).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.
Competitors may bring at most 1 guest.
If you are registered for the main BC Championship 2026, registration for this competition is FREE. In this case, please indicate in your registration comments that you are registered for both, and DO NOT pay the $20.00 registration fee. You will be manually moved to the accepted registration list by one of the organizers.

The competition is in Room 261 of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at UBC. It is located at 1961 East Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1.

Public Transit
UBC is accessible by many buses and the venue is less than a 5 minute walk from the UBC bus loop/exchange. Please check Translink alerts and plan your trip accordingly.
Food
There are many restaurants within walking distance from the venue.
As this is a small competition with only 1 or 2 groups per round, we will need everyone to help out when not competing - typically, this means you will need to judge when not competing.
Welcome
For those of you new to cubing - we'd like to welcome you to attend a competition, but this is probably NOT a good competition to attend. We only have blindfolded events/fewest moves, and WILL NOT HAVE THE 3x3x3 CUBE. For regular speedsolving events, please search for other competitions in Canada.

FAQs
Q: What will the competition look like?
A: Unlike normal competitions, this one will be small and quiet. Spectator are welcome, but will need to be quiet/undistracting the entire time.
Q: Who is allowed to compete?
A: Everyone, from all ages are allowed to compete. However, for this particular competition, you need to know how to solve a cube blindfolded, or be able to complete a fewest moves attempt (or both).
Q: How do I check the results of the competition?
A: Check out WCA Live and search for the competition name to check live results throughout the day. Official results will then be posted within a few days of the end of the competition.
Q: How do I know when I am competing?
A: Group assignments for competing and staffing will be available on Competition Groups a few days before the competition.

BC Champion Eligibility
The highest placing BC resident in each event will be recognized as the 2026 BC Champion. You do not need to be a Canadian citizen, but you must live in B.C..
To be eliglble for the provincial championship title, please visit speedcubingcanada.org and connect your WCA Account, then select "British Columbia" as your province.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Regulation A1a2).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
