The Guinness World Record for reciting the most digits of Pi is 70,000 digits.
In honor of Pi Day, at the end of the competition (5:00-5:30 PM) we will have an unofficial contest of reciting digits of Pi (in decimal) from memory. We will present awards for the top three competitors to recite the most digits of Pi accurately from memory.
The Pi Reciting contest not required to take part in the cubing competition. However, no matter how many digits you know, you are welcome to take part! Registration for the Pi Reciting Contest is now closed. There are 22 people who registered.
If you're serious about winning our Pi Reciting Contest, there are methods for learning digits quickly, some of which are connected to the same memory techinques used by top blindfolded solvers. Learn more here.
Food is not supposed to be eaten inside the venue and the food court is closed on weekends. There are sometimes food trucks outside, but the information is not disclosed until the day of. You may eat in the Union Building, just not inside the room the competition is held in.
There are several places a short distance from campus within driving distance.
The Pie Pizzeria does deliver to the campus and is located quite close. Dominos will deliver to the venue as well.

Attending and placing at this competition will earn you Utah Cubing Cup points. More information is availble here.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
