IMPORTANT
Utah Newcomers is a unique competition that has been organized to introduce new competitors to WCA competition. Newcomers is being run in conjunction with Utah All-Stars on the same day in the same venue. All-Stars is an exciting opportunity for the best of Utah to compete against each other. If you are an experienced competitor, even if you don't consider yourself to be the best of the best, please consider registering for All Stars. Check out the All-Stars website to see how that competition has been designed for you. If you are a first time or less experienced competitor (competed for the first time in 2024, 2025, 2026 or otherwise consider yourself to be less experienced), we strongly encourage you to register for this competition, as the scheduling of both competitions has been tailored specifically to improve the expereince for you.
The most unique aspect of this competition is how the schedules have been interleaved. For each event, the finals All-Stars will immediately preceed the first round of the same event of this competition. Please arrive by 12:30 at the latest to check-in so that you can be ready for the competitior tutorial at 1:00. You are also welcome to come earlier in the day to watch the first rounds of All-Stars and interact with other cubers.
This competition is recognized as an official World Cube Association competition. Therefore, all competitors must be familiar with the WCA Regulations.

This competition is a sister competition with Utah All-Stars 2026. Both competitions will happen on the same day, in the same venue, with the only difference in events being that All-Stars will have one round of Square-1. You may only register for one, not both, of these competitions. These competitions have been planned in a very unique way. All Stars has been designed for expereinced competitors, while the Newcomers has been designed primarily for competitiors who have not been competing for a long time. If you are newer to Speedcubing (competed for the first time in 2025, 2026, or have never competeted before) we strongly reccomend that you consider registering for NewComers, as the experience is being tailored to you. If this is your first competition, you will not be able to sign up for All-Stars
With there being two competitions, how do I know which competition I should register for?
There's no hard and fast rule for this, with one exception. If you have never competed before, you will not be able to register for All-Stars. Below we have listed a few situations to provide guidance on which competition you should sign up for.
I have never competed before/I have been cubing for less than a year and have only been to one or a few competitions.
A: You should sign up for Newcomers. You're exactly who we've designed this competition for!I have been to 3 or 4 competitions and recently have started making second round when there are 3 rounds of 3x3. I have never made a final in any event
A: We reccomend that you register for Newcomers. This is a great opportunity to experience a finals. Who knows, you might even get a podium!I have been to less than 10 competitions, but I go to competitions fairly often. I always or almost always make second round of 3x3 when there are 3 rounds, and I've made a few finals (in any event) at smaller competitions.
A: This is a bit of a toss up. You can decide, but you should check out the benefits of both.I go to most competitions in Utah and/or often make finals.
A: You should register for All-Stars. Even if you don't think you have a chance to podium, this is the competition for you. Plus, we have square-1!
Each competitor will receive a custom cube stand with their WCA id on it. We are looking into the possibility of other commemorative items.
In addtiion, we will be holding several drawings throughout the day for prizes sponsored by Kanyon's Cube's, who will be vending at this competition.
First through Third place finishers in each event will receive a medal and certificate.

Newcomers
For those of you new to cubing, welcome!
We're excited to introduce you to the world of Speedcubing. The first thing at the competition will be a comprehensive review of how competing works, but below you will find the information you need.
When you arrive, make sure you check in with a WCA delegate at the check-in desk. There will be a check-in period from 12:00-1:00 for newcomers.
Please be familiar with the WCA Regulations, which can be found here. There is a lot to go over but the most important parts are articles 2, 3, and A, so if you can't go over all the regulations please go over those three sections!
Additionally, this video will explain almost everything one will need to know about competing for the first time; however, it is still required that all competitors are still familiar with the full set of regulations above.
If you are ready to sign up, head over to the registration tab, click register, and fill out the information it asks for. This will help you get registered for the competition, and one step closer to your first WCA competition!
You can also watch this tutorial on how to create a WCA account and register with the new registration system!
