Payment:

Upon registering you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Tramsheds Twin Saturday 2020 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made.

Please ensure you have paid the registration fees via Stripe on the register page. Your registration will not be processed until you have paid the registration fees. Email the organisation team at support@speedcubing.org.au if you encounter an issue. All registration fees include GST.

Your registration will not be accepted if you are on the accepted competitors list for Tramsheds Twin Sunday 2020.

Waiting List:

Once the competitor limit has filled, the waiting list will be opened. New registrations will be added to a waitlist and sorted in the order of payment. Waitlisted competitors will only be accepted provided one of the accepted competitors withdraws from the competition. All competitors still on the waiting list after 7 August will be removed and provided with a full refund. You may enquire about your position on the waiting list by emailing the organisation team at support@speedcubing.org.au.

Deleting Registration/Refunds:

If you can no longer make the competition you may request a refund. To receive a full refund you must email the organisational team at support@speedcubing.org.au by 7 August. Refunds will not be issued after this date for any reason. Withdrawing enables competitors on the waiting list to attend the competition.

Changing Events/Competition Day:

You may change the events you are registered for by emailing support@speedcubing.org.au by 7 August. After this date it is no longer possible to add events. It is also acceptable to not show up for any event you do not wish to compete in.

It is possible to switch your registration to Tramsheds Twin Sunday 2020 provided there is no waiting list for that competition. Please email support@speedcubing.org.au if you would like to do this.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why can't I register for both Tramsheds Twin Saturday and Sunday 2020?
For the first time in Australia we are holding a twin competition where competitors may compete in only one of the two. The intention is to allow more competitors to compete in the Sydney region. Please note that the events at each competition are different - we recommend taking this into account when selecting which competition to register for.

Q. What time should I arrive at the competition?
You should arrive for registration at 9 am. You should be at the venue ready to compete 30 minutes before you are scheduled. Please note the schedule is subject to change on the day.

Q. How old do I have to be to compete?
Anyone can compete at any age! We encourage anyone considering to compete to register as it will be a great experience regardless of age.

Q. How fast do I have to be to compete?
To compete you only need to know how to solve the cube! Please check the events tab for information in time limits for each event.

Q. What do I need to know before the competition day?
Before attending you should have read and understood the WCA regulations . We also recommend that you watch this helpful competitor guide and read this competition tutorial. You should also know when your events are scheduled throughout the day.

Q. How do I find out if I've progressed to the second round?
Times will be uploaded through the day. Please allow up to an hour from finishing your solves to them being uploaded. After all the times of a round has been entered, you can see if you are in the following round.

Q. Who can I ask for help on the day?
Your Delegates for this competition are Edward Hollingdale and Nathan Seeto, feel free to ask them any questions you may have on the day.

Q. Can I help on the day?
Of course! Throughout the day we will need judges and runners so please see our Delegates to ask how you can best assist.

Q. How do I find out about other upcoming competitions in Australia?
You can find out about upcoming competitions in Australia by signing up to the Speedcubing Australia mailing list.

Q. Where can I ask other questions?
We can be reached at support@speedcubing.org.au.

Live results will be provided via WCALive. It may take up to an hour between times being set and them appearing online.

Like all Sydney competitions, we will rely on volunteer competitors/parents throughout the day for judging, running, and scrambling. However, in order to ensure a core group of helpers for both Saturday and Sunday Tramsheds Twin competitions we will be having a select number of dedicated staff. If you are interested in being staff for this competition, please apply here.

Staff are expected to help out extensively at both Tramsheds Twin Saturday and Sunday and to have experience helping out at past competitions. If you want to have a "typical" competition experience of competing, judging a few groups, and socialising in between then you should not apply for staff.

Staff will have their registration fee refunded after the competition and will also receive a Tramsheds gift voucher for lunch.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
