All Attendees (Spectators/Families)

  • Spectators (parents, siblings, friends, etc.) are allowed to come watch for free. No prior registration is required.
  • It would be wonderful if we could get some volunteer help from parents (If you have not judged before, please attend the new competitor tutorial to learn how). Once you know how, you can judge for however long you'd feel like - it's an excellent way to help support the event your kid is enjoying and make the time fly by as well!

All Competitors

  • Check-in will start at 8:00 AM on Saturday. You only have to be present for check in on the first day you are competing. Please pick up your personalized name tag when you arrive to the competition as this contains all of your group information for competing and judging assignments. If you are a first time competitor, you must check in with one of the competition delegates first to receive your personalized name tag.
  • Most competitors will receive judging assignments and are expected to fulfill them. Pay attention to your group assignments - This is essential to keep the events on schedule. Failure to show up to judge may result in disqualification. If you do not know how to judge, please attend the new competitor tutorial to learn how.
  • You should be present at least 30 minutes before the start of any events you are competing in. If you miss your group you may not be able to compete in that event.
  • We will use regulation 9p3 as much as we can. So if you do not arrive to compete by the time the event is starting, your spot may be given up to the next competitor in the rankings.
  • Your delegates for this competition are Michael Conard and Tristan Patrick. Ask them if you have any questions throughout the day!

New Competitors

  • We will have a new competitor tutorial at 8:30 AM on Saturday. It is very important that you attend this tutorial to learn the competing and judging processes.
  • This video will help explain most things that any first-time competitor will need to know. It is highly recommended that parents watch this video as well to better understand how a competition works.
  • Please be familiar with all of WCA's regulations, most importantly Article A. If you have any questions about the regulations, feel free to ask us.
  • In each event we will have rounds. We will take the top competitors into subsequent rounds. After a round is completed it will be entered into WCA Live. Your name will be highlited if you are advancing to the next round.
  • Each round will be divided into groups to help them run more efficiently. We will call the groups in order, along with a last call during the last group. Please come submit your puzzle when your group is called. We are allowed to deny you the ability to compete if you do not come up by the last call.

If you have any questions not answered on the competition website, please use the contact link on the General Info tab to contact the organization team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I register?
A: First you need to make sure you have created a WCA account. You can do this by going to the sign-up page and creating an account. Once you have created the account and confirmed your email address, go to the Register page on the left and follow the instructions fully and carefully.

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?
A: Please make sure that you have followed the instructions listed on the Register page. You could also be on the waiting list. There is a competitor limit of 48, and you can see the number of accepted competitors on the Competitor List. If you have done everything correctly and the competition is not full then we will accept you within 48 hours. If you believe you have followed the steps correctly and still are not on the Competitor List after 48 hours, then feel free to contact us using the contact link on the General Info page.

Q: I am no longer able to attend, what do I do?
A: The first thing you need to do is tell us as soon as you know via the contact link on the General Info page. Competitions generally fill up quite quickly and letting us know that you can't attend may mean we can add someone from the waiting list.

Q: If I do not attend do I get a refund?
A: If you inform us you are no longer attending before Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 11:00 PM CDT. then you will receive a 90% refund. If this time has passed then you will not receive a refund.

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: We recommend that you check out the Events and Schedule tabs. If you can make the time limit for the events you want to compete in, then you're fast enough! Many people come to competitions just to beat their own personal bests, and meet likeminded people, with no intention of winning or even making it past the first round.

Q: Are there different age categories/What is the average age of competitors?
A: All competitors compete on the same level and all ages are welcome. Most competitors are between 10 and 25 years old, with the average age usually falling in the mid-teens. However, all ages are welcome - everyone can and should cube!

Q: Do I use my own cubes to compete?
A: Yes! Make sure to bring cubes for all events you are competing in and look after them so you dont lose them.

Q: Am I allowed to bring a guest?
A: Yes, you are allowed to bring up to two guests for no additional cost. Space in the venue may be restricted during busy times so please try to limit the number you bring, as well as list the number when registration asks.

Q: I'm a parent, what can I do to get involved?
A: If you're looking for something to do then you can certainly help out with the running and judging! We always need help with this and they are really easy procedures to follow. You can come to the Competitor Tutorial on Saturday morning where we go through all of it there, and there is a tutorial here as well.

Q: I'm not competing in any events on Sunday. Do I still have to be there?
A: No. You do not have to be present on any days where you do not have any events you are competing in.

Q: When do I arrive at the competition?
A: If you are a new competitor, we highly recommend that you show up the New Competitor Tutorial on Saturday morning. Otherwise, we recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes before your first event - you can check when this is on the Schedule tab. This will give you enough time to check in, find a seat, and warm-up.

Q: What do I do when I arrive?
A: The first thing you do when you arrive is find the help desk if check-in is open. If you arrive before check-in opens, we will make an announcement as to when it does open. If there is nobody present at the help desk then find a staff member and we will make sure to check you in.

Q: When can I leave the competition?
A: You are more than welcome to leave whenever you want. If you have no more events left then you are not required to stay. Even if you have more events later, you are not required to compete, but doing so is highly recommended.

Q: Is there lunch provided?
A: Lunch is not provided but there are several options in the area. Please keep in mind you may not bring in any outside food or drink.

Q: How do I find results?
A: All the results will be found on the home page within a week after the competition, once they have all been checked and uploaded. Live results will be available on WCA Live.
