Registration procedure:

  1. Register on the WCA competition page here.
  2. Make payment of registration fee ($25) via Stripe after registration.
  3. If you are a first-timer (i.e. you do not have a WCA ID), please submit a document to verify your identity via this Google form. Skip this step if you already have a WCA ID.
  4. Your registration is considered complete after finishing all the steps above.

Payment:

Upon registering, you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Singapore Eighty And Below 2023 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made.
Please ensure you have paid the registration fee via Stripe on the Register page. Your registration is not complete and will not be processed until you have paid the $25 registration fee. Contact the organiser if you encounter an issue.

Waiting List:

  • Once the competitor limit of 100 has filled, the waiting list will be opened.
  • You must pay the $25 registration fee to be added to the waiting list.
  • New registrations will be added to a waitlist and sorted in the order of payment.
  • A waitlisted competitor will only be added to the competition once a registered competitor withdraws.
  • All competitors still on the waiting list after Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:59 PM GMT+8 will be removed and provided with 80% refund (i.e. $20).
  • You may enquire about your position on the waiting list by contacting the organiser.

Deleting Registration/Refunds:

  • If you can no longer make it for the competition, you may request a refund.
  • To receive the 80% refund (i.e. $20), you must contact the organiser before registration closes on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:59 PM GMT+8.
  • Withdrawing enables us to maximise attendance, and for competitors on the waiting list to attend.

Spectators are permitted and may enter free of charge.

However, please be aware that this competition only has the Fewest Moves event, which is run similarly to an exam and is not very spectator friendly. If you still wish to spectate, please note that we allow only 2 guests per competitor for this competition, as the venue has limited space, and no judges are required. In the event that the registration is FULL (i.e. 100 competitors have signed up), there will not be any seats for spectators in the rooms.

As the competition is held in a hotel, there will be plenty of space outside the rooms for parents to wait while their child participates. There is also a restaurant and a cafe, and their opening hours can be found here.
