San Jose Mineta International Airport is very close to the venue.

Food:

We will not be providing a meal with this competition. Feel free to eat before you arrive and/or bring food with you.

While anyone is welcome to register for this competition, it is not especially intended for new competitors.
In particular, note that this competition does not have the very popular 3x3x3 cube speed solving event.

Instead, the competition will only have the fewest moves challenge (FMC) event, where the best solves are determined based on the number of moves/turns used to solve a 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube. Competitors have one hour to produce a solution from a given scramble and must write the solution on a piece of paper using appropriate notation. Many FMC enthusiasts describe the event as being similar to taking a written exam, but it is a fun test, and it's not like your result is going to become part of your academic records. If this sounds like an interesting cubing activity to you, feel free to give it a try and register.

If this is your first competition, or if you're not familiar with the FMC event, please familiarize yourself with the WCA regulations for this event.
These can be found here:
https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/regulations/

If you prefer to start out in a more conventional manner, i.e., in a 3x3x3 cube speed solving event, you can likely find other competions in the Northern California area as well as Southern California, Nevada, and Hawaii that will have this event here.
