Registration requirements
This competition is over, click here to display the registration requirements it used.
Create a WCA account here if you don't have one.
If this is not your first competition, associate your WCA ID to your WCA account here.
Register for this competition here.
There is a competitor limit of 200 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $25 (United States Dollar).

Registration Information

The registration fee for this competition is $25.00. The WCA Stripe payment system is being used for this competition. You will be prompted to pay following registration. You are not considered registered until you pay via Stripe.

If you paid but don't see your name on the registration list within 48 hours of payment (assuming 200 competitors aren't on the competitor list already), please email the organizers. Despite the use of the Stripe payment system, organizers still have to manually move competitors to the approved competitor list following payment.

You must register and pay online to compete. No at-the-door registrations or payments will be accepted under any circumstances. We realize this may not be ideal for some people, but this allows us to have an exact count of people attending and lets us use staff resources more effectively the day of the competition. Spectators may attend for free.

You may request a refund up to June 6, 2018, 8:00pm EDT.

Waitlist Information:

We will be keeping a waitlist for this competition. Once the 200th competitor has paid, we will not close registration until we have a waitlist of 30 competitors (not including the 200 who will be/are listed on the competitors tab). To secure a place on the waitlist once 200 competitors have paid, simply pay the registration fee. If a competitor emails us to drop out, you will be notified if you are the next competitor on the waitlist. If you see that you cannot pay to be on the waitlist (registration will have closed), it means we have reached the waitlist threshold (30) and have therefore closed registration.

If you are emailed notifying you that you can compete, you have 48 hours to respond confirming your attendance before your registration will be refunded and we move on to the next competitor. Therefore, it is imperative that you check your emails frequently if you are on the waitlist.

Once the deadline to request a refund has passed, all remaining competitors on the waitlist will be emailed letting them know they did not get off the waitlist and will be refunded.

Cutoff- Rounds with a cutoff will have an additional best of 2 (best of 1 for 6x6 and 7x7) format where competitors will have 2 attempts to achieve a time under the cutoff. If the comeptitor does then they will be awarded more attempts to compelete the average.

Time Limit - Any attempt in the round exceeding this time will be awarded a DNF. For "WCA" Time limits, it is dependent on the regulations for that event.

All cutoffs, time limits, numbers of competitors advancing to subsequent rounds, and subsequent rounds are subject to change, however all changes will be announced prior to the round's occurrence. We hope to not make changes, however scheduling limitations may require changes to be made.

Update (6/10): We have updated the schedule to reflect the number of competitors signed up. It is still subject to change, however we aim to adhere to this schedule. All changes (if they occur) will be announced in advance.

UPDATE (6/7/18): The registration deadline has passed. If you are not on the competitor list, you will not compete at this competition. We are also past the deadline for refunds, so unfortunately we cannot process refunds if you can no longer attend. Stay tuned for more New England competitions to be announced soon.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST READ THIS TAB BEFORE REGISTERING.

If you are a first time competitor, please read this section carefully. If you are a returning competitor, please skip to the next section.

NEWCOMERS:

There are multiple things a first-timer must know before competing. All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. There is a video here for the basic overview of the rules.

ALL COMPETITORS:

All competitors are expected to help out at this competition. In addition to your competing groups, all competitors will receive groups in which they are expected to either judge, scramble, or run. All assignments will be organized by group, meaning that when we call a particular group of an event up to compete, if you are scheduled to judge/scramble/run during that group, you will come up and start performing your assigned task. If you do not show up for your assignments, your times may be subject to disqualification.

UPDATE (6/7/18): We are no longer accepting applications for staff. If you have not already received a reply, you should assume you are not on staff, as we have reached the target quota.

If you're interested in helping out at this competition, consider applying to join the staff!

If you wish to staff this competition, please fill out this form.

Staff members are required to pay the registration fee up-front. They will receive a full refund after the competition assuming they attend. While we would like to be able to be able to waive registration fees before the competition (as opposed to after it ends), we have had too many instances of staff members not showing up to a competition without notifying the organizational team.

Staff Perks:

  • Free lunch provided on both days
  • Free snacks provided on both days
  • Refunded registration fee after the competition

Those who are accepted onto staff will receive an email confirmation with more details. Staff will be assigned to a particular stage and will be assigned jobs (extending beyond those required of all competitors) when they are not competing.
