- Information
This competition has only blindfolded and fewest moves events. Spectators and competitors must remain silent whenever anyone is competing, to allow for concentration.
While you only need to show up for events/rounds that you are competing in, we would appreciate competitors being present for other events/rounds too when not inconvenient, to help with judging. If you have a parent or friend who can come judge, that would be great - it's not hard, even if you know nothing about cubing.Note about venue: Unlike previous competitions held in UBC, this competition's venue is not at the Nest. The venue is located in IKB Learning Centre (see Venue Details), which is still quite close to the Nest.

There is a competitor limit of 40 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $15 (Canadian Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
If the competitor limit has been reached and you register for this competition, you will be added onto the waitlist. Once on the waitlist, you must complete your registration (by paying the registration fee). As competitors delete their registrations, spots will open up for people on the waitlist and competitors will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis from those that have paid. If you are accepted from off of the waitlist, you will be notified by receiving an email saying that your registration has been accepted. We will only be taking people from the waitlist until the end of Friday May 1st. If you do not make it off the waitlist, you will be fully refunded your registration fee and will, unfortunately, not be able to compete in the competition.
You can email the organizer(s) up until the end of Friday May 1st if you would like to add events to your registration.

Schedule for Saturday (May 09, 2020)
Schedule for Sunday (May 10, 2020)
This competition will have only no "normal" events, only Fewest Moves and blindolded events! If it is your first time competing in these events, please make sure you are familiar with the WCA regulations regarding Fewest Moves and blindfolded solving before the day of the competition.
If you don't want to compete in any of these events but would still like to come and watch, that is totally fine, as long as you make sure to remain quiet out of respect for the competitors. Any noise or distractions can ruin an attempt for someone, so anybody causing disruptions during any of our events will be asked to leave.

Public transport
UBC is accessible with buses (4, 14, 99, etc.) and IKB Learning Centre is just a few minutes walk from the bus loop.
NOTE: We had received issues regarding bus delays due to constructions and other unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to check on Translink Transit Alerts and plan your trip beforehand to avoid any delays.
Parking
You may park the car at the North Parkade (directions shown here). The parking rate is at most $10 on weekends.
Food
There will be food eateries open at The Nest, as well as the University Village within a few minutes walk.
This competition will be sponsored by TheCubicle!
They will be providing gift-card prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in every event.

Please see the WCA Board's announcement regarding COVID-19. In particular: "Competitions in which the first day of the competition is on or before May 15th will require express written permission of the Board." At this point, we are not officially cancelling the competition, but we also do not have board approval to proceed yet. There is a good chance the competition will be cancelled, so we strongly recommend against booking any travel plans for this competition until we have a better understanding of the situation. We will keep all registrations (both unpaid on the waiting list, and completed/paid) updated via email, as well as updating the competition website.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Guideline A1a2++).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
