Ontario Favourites Fall 2023 Series
This competition is in a series with Waterloo Favourites Fall 2023. You will only be able to compete in one of these two competitions. Attempting to register for both competitions will result in only one of your registrations being accepted.
Registration Reminders
Since this is a "favourites" competition, you may choose at most five (5) events.
You must register and pay the registration fee before your registration can be accepted. Unpaid registrations will not be accepted. See the Competitor List and Waiting List sections near the bottom of this page for more details.

This competition is part of the Ontario Favourites Fall 2023 Competition Series. Other competitions in this Series are: Note: You can submit a registration for all competitions in a Series, but only one of those registrations can be confirmed and accepted. You will only be allowed to compete in one of the Series competitions!
There is a competitor limit of 160 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $30 (Canadian Dollar).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 95% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.
Competitors may bring at most 1 guest.
Competitors may register in at most 5 events.
Competitor List
Registrants must pay the registration fee in order to be added to the competitor list. Unpaid registrations will not be accepted. Organizers manually accept registrations one at a time in the order the registration fees are paid, so your name may not appear on the competitor list immediately.
Once the competitor list reaches the 160 competitor limit, registrants who pay the registration fee will be added to the waiting list instead of the competitor list. Due to the competitor limit, completing your registration within the initial registration period does not guarantee you a spot on the competitor list.
Waiting List
The waiting list is ordered based on the timestamp that registrants paid the registration fee. If you are added to the waiting list you will be informed via an email. Additionally, you can ask about your position on the waiting list by emailing Speedcubing Canada.
If anyone on the competitor list deletes their registration, the person at the top of the waiting list will be moved to the competitor list. After September 21, 2023, the competitor list will be finalized and registrants who are still on the waiting list will be refunded 100% of their registration fee. Registrants on the waiting list may email Speedcubing Canada at any time to forfeit their spot on the waiting list and be refunded 100% of their registration fee.
If the competitor list fills up quickly, registration could close earlier than the originally listed date (September 21, 2023). The waiting list will close at the same time that registration closes.
Favourites Competition
Since this is a "favourites" competition, you may choose at most five (5) events. Registrations with more than five (5) events will NOT be accepted.

The Fastest First-Time Competitor in 3x3x3 Cube at this competition will be provided a $10.00 gift card from Cubing Out Loud! Additionally, Speedcubing Canada will present the Fastest First-Timer a plaque during the after Round 1 of 3x3x3 Cube.
Food
There are several restaurants within a 10-minute walk from the venue including the Pickering Town Centre food court.
There is no dedicated lunch break during the competition. Please plan to grab lunch during a time when you are not competing.
Parking and Transit
Parking is free at the venue. The main entrance to the Recreation Complex is the closest to the Banquet Halls, which are located on the ground level.
The venue is a 20-minute walk or 10-minute bus ride from Pickering GO Station.
What is a competition series?
When two or more competitions are in a "series", it means that you can compete in one of the competitions in that series. This allows more competitors the opportunity to compete at WCA competitions in the Greater Toronto Area.
For this series, you can compete in Waterloo Favourites Fall 2023 or Pickering Favourites Fall 2023, but not both.
When should I arrive at the venue?
Please plan to arrive about 30 minutes before the start of your first event. If you are not competing in events during the morning, you do not need to be present until the afternoon. For example, if your first event of the day is 3x3x3 Cube, which starts at 1:10 PM, we would recommend arriving around 12:40 PM.

Where do I check-in?
Competitors can pick up their name tag at check-in desk near the main entrance of the banquet hall.
If the check-in desk is closed when you arrive, please go to the data entry desk near the back of the banquet hall, behind the solving stations.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
