Information

Please Be Quiet

This isn't your typical speed solving competition as 3x3x3 Fewest Moves (FMC) and Blindfolded events are the only events. Blindfolded events require a significant amount of learning, practice and concentration, and FMC is an exam-style event in which competitors spend up to an hour finding the shortest solution they can and writing it down on paper. All attendees, including competitors and guests, are asked to please remain quiet at this competition to allow competitors to concentrate.

If you are looking to compete in the traditional 3x3x3 Cube event or other timed events, please look for another competition in Canada.

Note for New Competitors

Although first-timers are welcome to compete if they know how to compete in FMC or solve puzzles blindfolded (please note Regulation 2k6), this might not be the best experience for new competitors. Please consider registering for another competition if this one isn't for you.

You can also follow Speedcubing Canada on social media and/or join our mailing list to keep up-to-date on competition announcements.

Registration Reminders

You must register and pay the registration fee before your registration can be accepted. Unpaid registrations will not be accepted. See the Competitor List and Waiting List sections near the bottom of this page for more details.

Competitor List

Registrants must pay the registration fee in order to be added to the competitor list. Unpaid registrations will not be accepted. Organizers manually accept registrations one at a time in the order the registration fees are paid, so your name may not appear on the competitor list immediately.

Once the competitor list reaches the 40 competitor limit, registrants who pay the registration fee will be added to the waiting list instead of the competitor list. Due to the competitor limit, completing your registration within the initial registration period does not guarantee you a spot on the competitor list.

Waiting List

The waiting list is ordered based on the timestamp that registrants paid the registration fee. If you are added to the waiting list you will be informed via an email. Additionally, you can ask about your position on the waiting list by emailing Speedcubing Canada.

If anyone on the competitor list deletes their registration, the person at the top of the waiting list will be moved to the competitor list. After January 5, 2023, the competitor list will be finalized and registrants who are still on the waiting list will be refunded 100% of their registration fee. Registrants on the waiting list may email Speedcubing Canada at any time to forfeit their spot on the waiting list and be refunded 100% of their registration fee.

If the competitor list fills up quickly, registration could close earlier than the originally listed date (January 5, 2023). The waiting list will close at the same time that registration closes.
