Event Descriptions:
Rubik’s Cube: Match the Scramble
Competitor submits two 3x3’s with the same color scheme, one of which is scrambled by the scramblers. Before inspection begins, both 3x3’s are under the cube cover. When the solve begins, both 3x3’s must be on the mat. The competitor performs moves on only the puzzle which was originally solved in order to match the state of the scrambled puzzle. After the solve, the judge checks all six sides of both puzzles to confirm that the scramble has been matched. Both 3x3’s return, scrambled, to the scramblers, who solve them and then perform the next scramble.
Rubik’s Cube: Team Blindfolded
Competitors form teams of two, and must be part of at most one team. The team will do two solves, and each member of the team will serve once as the caller and once as the solver. The solver will remain blindfolded for the entire attempt. During inspection, both the caller and the solver may touch the puzzle. During the solve, only the solver may touch the puzzle, and the judge will hold a sight blocker to prevent the solver from seeing the puzzle. The caller and solver are allowed to communicate both during inspection and during the solve.

A team of competitors solves a 2x2, a 3x3, a 4x4, a 5x5, a 3x3 one-handed, a Megaminx, a Pyraminx, a Clock, a Skewb, and a Square-1. They will have 45 seconds of inspection, with one call by the judge at 30 seconds.

The Mini Guildford Challenge and Full Guildford Challenge events will be held for an hour. Competitors may compete at any time during that hour and as many times as they like according to the following. Competitors can form groups of two, three or four which will have up to 3 attempts with a cumulative time limit of 10 minutes. A competitor may not be in more than one group of the same size for the same event, but may compete again in a group of a different size. No groups will be permitted to submit puzzles for scrambling less than 10 minutes before the end of the scheduled time for Guildford Challenges. Extra time may be allotted if the competition is ahead of schedule, and this will be clearly announced beforehand. Competitors may be denied to compete during the final 10 minutes of the event at the discretion of the organizer and delegate.
