Mississauga 3x3x3 Newcomers Series

One day, two competitions! We are running this one-day competition series as part of WCA Newcomer Month. 40% of spots will be reserved for newcomers (see WCA Newcomer Month 2025 near the bottom of this page for more information).

You can choose between Mississauga 3x3x3 Newcomers A and Mississauga 3x3x3 Newcomers B! These competitions are identical except for the time of day they take place (morning or afternoon).

You will only be able to compete in one of these two competitions. Attempting to register for more than one of these competitions will result in only one of your registrations being accepted.

This is a great opportunity for newcomers to compete in 3x3x3 Cube – the maximum-allowed top-75% of competitors will advance to the second round! Plus, as part of WCA Newcomer Month we will have special prizes and initiatives for first-time competitors.

Registration Reminders

You must register and pay the registration fee before your registration can be accepted. Unpaid registrations will not be accepted. Please see the Competitor List and Waiting List sections near the bottom of this page for more details.

Competitor List

Registrants must pay the registration fee in order to be added to the competitor list. Unpaid registrations will not be accepted. Organizers manually accept registrations one at a time in the order the registration fees are paid, so your name may not appear on the competitor list immediately.

Once the competitor list reaches the 120 competitor limit, registrants who pay the registration fee will be added to the waiting list instead of the competitor list. Due to the competitor limit, completing your registration within the initial registration period does not guarantee you a spot on the competitor list.

Waiting List

The waiting list is ordered based on the timestamp that registrants paid the registration fee. If you are added to the waiting list you will be informed via an email. Additionally, you can ask about your position on the waiting list by emailing Speedcubing Canada.

If anyone on the competitor list deletes their registration, the person at the top of the waiting list will be moved to the competitor list. After March 1, 2025, the competitor list will be finalized and registrants who are still on the waiting list will be refunded 100% of their registration fee. Registrants on the waiting list may email Speedcubing Canada at any time to forfeit their spot on the waiting list and be refunded 100% of their registration fee.

If the competitor list fills up quickly, registration could close earlier than the originally listed date (March 1, 2025). The waiting list will close at the same time that registration closes.

What is a competition series?

When two or more competitions are in a "series", it means that you can compete in one of the competitions in that series. This allows more competitors the opprotunity to compete at WCA competitions in the Greater Toronto Area.

For this series, you can compete in Mississauga 3x3x3 Newcomers A 2024 or Mississauga 3x3x3 Newcomers B 2024, but not both.
