Pre-Competition

• We highly recommend all competitors to be familiar with WCA Regulations.
• Do check your email a week before the competition. Our organizers will send you an email that includes competition announcements, grouping list, venue policy (if necessary), and vital information for competitors only.
• You must be present at the venue during the competitor tutorial as we will be doing a demo and explaining some basic WCA regulations. If you have attended the competitor tutorial on Saturday, you do not have to be present during the tutorial session on Sunday.
• It is a must to be ready at least 60 minutes before your event/group starts, as we might run the competition ahead of schedule. You will not be able to compete in an event if you are not on time or missed the last call during that event.

Competition Tutorial

We will be having a competitor tutorial on the competition day. However, we highly recommend all first-timers to watch this video to understand how solving in a competition works. It is also important to check WCA Regulations to make sure that you are familiar with the latest regulations. After finishing your attempts, you can check your results from WCA Live.

Sebelum Kompetisi

• Kami sangat menyarankan semua peserta untuk memahami Peraturan WCA.

Results will be uploaded throughout the day to WCA Live. Please allow up to an hour from finishing your solves to them being uploaded. After all the times of a round has been entered, you can see if you are in the following round.

Welcome to Medan, Indonesia! If you are a competitor traveling by air to join the Indonesian Championship in Favehotel, Medan, get ready for an exciting and memorable experience. Here's a comprehensive travel guide to help you make the most of your trip:

1. Getting There:
The nearest airport is Kualanamu International Airport (KNO), located approximately 39 km from Medan city center. Many domestic and international flights operate to and from this airport.

2. Accommodation:
Favehotel is the host venue, so staying there is the most convenient option. Ensure you book your room well in advance to secure your accommodation. Please check the Accomodation tab for booking the hotel room at a cheaper rate. Nearby alternatives include JW Marriott Hotel Medan, Aryaduta Medan, and Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa. These are reputable options for a comfortable stay.

3. Transportation:
Taxis and ride-hailing services are available at the airport to take you to your accommodation. Use reputable services like Grab, Gojek, or Blue Bird taxis.

4. Weather:
Medan has a tropical rainforest climate, so expect warm and humid weather throughout the year. Pack light, breathable clothing and don't forget your sunscreen.

5. Currency and Payments:
The official currency of Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most establishments accept cash, but larger hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls may also accept credit cards.

6. Language:
Bahasa Indonesia is the official language, but you can often find English spoken at hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas.

Competitors who wish to stay at Favehotel will get a special rate for room booking. There are two types of rooms offered at a special rate: Superior and Deluxe.

Superior Room
Price: IDR 424,000 per night (including breakfast for 2 pax)

Deluxe Room
Price: IDR 457,000 per night (including breakfast for 2 pax)

Previously, we announced that all competitors would be entitled to a special room booking rate. This exclusive offer can only be accessed by contacting the sales team via WhatsApp. However, our dedicated person in charge, Eka, who had been overseeing room bookings for the Indonesian Championship 2023, commenced her maternity leave yesterday. During her absence, Ms. Astry will be taking charge of all matters related to room bookings and inquiries for the Indonesian Championship 2023. To make room reservations, make changes to existing bookings, or if you have any inquiries concerning accommodations at Favehotel for the Indonesian Championship 2023, please do not hesitate to contact Astry. We regret to inform you that due to insufficient numbers of competitors and staff applications, we have encountered a significant challenge in adequately staffing the event. After careful consideration and discussions within our organizing committee, we have come to the difficult decision that we will not have dedicated staff for the Indonesian Speedcubing Championship 2023. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing you at the Indonesian Speedcubing Championship 2023 and hope to make it a great experience for everyone involved.

8th September

Registration for the Indonesian Championship will close next week. Please proceed with the payment process before September 15th, as indicated on the competition page. Once you've completed the payment, you can send the proof of payment to medanspeedcubing@gmail.com, and our organizers will process your registration as soon as possible.
