We extend a warm welcome to all newcomers joining us for the Indus Valley World School Cube Open 2023!

We want to assure you that this event is open to cubers of ANY age and experience level. Whether you are a seasoned solver or new to the world of cubing, we are thrilled to have you participate. Before you join us for the competition, we kindly request you to be aware of a few important details.

First and foremost, we strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the WCA Regulations, which govern the competition. These regulations ensure fair and standardized practices. You can find the comprehensive regulations here. We encourage you to read them thoroughly for a smooth and enjoyable experience.

To assist new cubers in understanding the basics of competing, we have a video made by @cyotheking on YouTube. This video provides a comprehensive overview of what you need to know before participating in a cubing competition. However, please note that watching the tutorial does not substitute for reading the regulations. You can access the tutorial here. If you would prefer a more light-hearted video tutorial we recommend another video by CubeHead here

If you are enthusiastic and ready to sign up, head over to the 'Registration and Payments' tab on our website. The registration process is straightforward and will guide you through the necessary steps.

Now, let's address some frequently asked questions (FAQs) to ensure you have all the information you need:

Q: Do I need to bring my own cube to compete?
A: Absolutely! Each participant is responsible for bringing their own cube to compete.

Q: What is the typical age range of competitors at these events?
A: While all ages are welcome, our competitors generally range between 8 and 20 years old. However, please don't let age restrict your participation. Cubing knows no bounds, and we have had participants as young as 5 years old solving cubes in previous competitions.

Q: How can I access the results?
A: All competition results will be posted on the WCA page within a week after the event concludes. For real-time updates on current events and upcoming rounds, visit live.worldcubeassociation.org. Please note that results are manually entered, so if you don't see your results immediately, please be patient.

Q: Are there age divisions for the competition?
A: No, all competitors will compete together regardless of age.

Q: I want to attend, or I have friends/family who want to attend, but not compete. Do they need to pay as well?
A: No. Spectators are welcome to view the competition free of charge.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?
A: Absolutely! Cubing is an amazing experience, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition to the fullest!
