Parking: There is plenty of free parking in front of and behind the church building.

Entrance: The Auxiliary Gymnasium is in a rectangular building behind the church. Enter through the double doors.

Hotels: There are no designated hotels for this competition. There are many hotels near I-75 exit 108 and Man O War Blvd (Hamburg area).

Food: There are many restaurants nearby in the Hamburg area. To get from the church to Hamburg: turn right onto Liberty Rd (0.1 mi), turn left onto Star Shoot Pkwy (0.7 mi), turn right onto Sir Barton Way.

For first-time competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules. Note that this video is fairly old and some information may be outdated.

In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition.

Finally, please be familiar with how to judge at a cubing competition. All competitors will be required to judge in at least one of the events they are competing in. This video gives a basic overview of how to judge, and does include more up-to-date information.

For All Competitors

When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

Event rules (from Cubing Contests):
Face-Turning Octahedron
Scrambling notation: the puzzle is oriented with one vertex facing directly in the front, such that four of the faces are directly above, below, to the left, and to the right of the front-facing vertex. These make up the U, F, L, and R faces, respectively. For the four faces on the back, B is adjacent to U, BL is adjacent to L, BR is adjacent to R, and D is adjacent to F.
Scrambling orientation (see Regulation 4d of the WCA Regulations): scrambled starting with white (if not possible, then the lightest color) as the U face and green (if not possible, then the darkest possible color) as the F face.
The scramble must be applied correctly. If the puzzle state is wrong, the scrambler must correct it (e.g. by solving the puzzle and applying the scramble sequence again).
Misalignment penalty (see Regulation 10f of the WCA Regulations): at most 60 degrees.
