Registration Requirements
Please note that there are THREE steps you need to take to be entered into this competition:
1) The competitor must Login or Create a WCA Account if they do not already have one (or their parent/guardian must create one for them).
2) The competitor must register for the competition using their WCA account, specifying which events they want to participate in.
3) The competitor must pay the entry fee by purchasing a ticket here:Payment Link <-------Pay Here
If you haven't both registered for the competition (Step 2) and paid for a ticket (Step 3), you will not be able to compete.
After registering for the competition on the WCA website, your registration will be pending. Once the payment through the CubingZA payment portal has been confirmed, your registration will be approved. (Allow up to 48 hours for the organizers to confirm the payment.)
Newcomers
You can Register and Pay on the day of the competition. We recommend signing up and paying online if you can - there is a competitor limit due to the venue capacity, and we cannot accept your entry if you register after the limit is reached! Signing up online secures your spot. Newcomers must bring some form of Identification - an ID, Birth Certificate, Passport, or something of this manner. It needs to have your full name, date of birth, and nationality on it. It can be a copy or even a photo of the document, it doesn't have to be the original.
Spectators
Competitors are welcome to bring up to two spectators with them. If you need to bring more, please contact the organizing team.
Volunteering
Please note that competitors are required to assist with volunteering during the competition - either in the role of "runner", "judge" or "scrambler". These roles will be explained as part of the "New Competitor Tutorial".
If you're a first-time competitior, we would love to have you! It doesn't matter how quickly you can solve the cube - everyone is there to have fun, make new friends, and do their best. If you're on the fence about going, take a look at this video giving a bit of insight into what a cube competition is like.
This competition runs over two days but you don't need to attend both days. Have a look on the schedule to see when the different events are happening so you can decide what days you should attend. For example, if you're only competing in 3X3, you only need to come on Sunday. Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before Registration ends on the first day you'll be competing. This helps us with entering everyone into the system and ensures that you're on time for the "Tutorial for new competitors". As a first-time competitor, you don't want to miss this as we'll be going over all the details of how to participate in this competition.
You can also watch this tutorial video beforehand on how you'll complete your solves.
We will also be sending out a pre-competition email before the competition with some more information so keep an eye out for that.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the delegates and organiser - we would be happy to help!
Where can I view my results?
On the competition days all results will be uploaded to WCA Live. Just search for the competition name under the "upcoming" tab. After the competition has ended, it will take a few days for the official results to be uploaded to the WCA main site.
