There is a competitor limit of 85 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $30 (United States Dollar).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 75% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.
Competitors may bring at most 1 guest.

Registration Process

Before You Register
All prospective registrants need a WCA account. New competitors can create their own WCA account by clicking here and entering the required information.

How to Register Online
Prospective competitors register by:
1. Signing into their WCA account;
2. Clicking "Register" on the left side of this webpage, selecting the events they would like to compete in, and submitting their registration;
3. Paying the registration fee of $30. (The registration fee is the same regardless of how many events are selected.) Your registration is not complete until you have paid the registration fee.

The competitor limit for this competition is 85. The list of approved competitors can be found by clicking "Competitors" on the left side of this webpage. If there are already 85 competitors on that list, it means the competition is full, and any future registrants will be placed on the waitlist.

Any requested changes to registration before Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 at 8:00 PM EDT will be honored. Your registration is not complete until your name shows up on the list.

How to Pay for Registration Online
Payment is processed through Stripe. Click on the "Register" tab on the left side of the webpage to register and pay all in one place! You can start the payment process by clicking "Pay your fees with card."

Refunds
Approved competitors who cancel their registration before Friday, August 15, 2025 at 8:00 PM EDT are eligible for a refund for 75% of their registration cost. After this date, no refund requests will be honored. Attempting to file a chargeback for the registration fee will lead to being blacklisted from future WCA events.

Waitlist Information
We will be keeping a waitlist for this competition. To secure a place on the waitlist once competitors have paid, simply pay the registration fee. If a competitor emails us to drop out before Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 at 8:00 PM EDT you will be notified if you are the next competitor on the waitlist. After that deadline, all remaining competitors on the waitlist will be emailed letting them know they did not get off the waitlist and will be fully refunded.

FAQ

Who can compete?
Everyone is welcome to compete. All you need to do is register for the event.

Do I need to bring my own cube to compete?
Yes, cubes/puzzles will not be provided. Competitors are expected to bring their own cubes/puzzles to compete with. Regulations for cubes/puzzles are outlined here.

Is there a competitor limit?
Yes, it is 85 competitors. You just need to make sure to register before the registration deadline.

How do I register?
Click on the registration tab on the competition website and follow the instructions.

Where can I find my WCA ID?
If you have never competed before, you do not have a WCA ID. You will automatically be assigned one when the results for your first competition are posted. If you have competed before, you can find your WCA ID and profile by searching for yourself on the WCA website.

Do spectators have to pay to attend?
Nope! Spectators may attend free of charge. However we will have a limit of how many spectators/guests may be in the room at one time.

This is my first competition. What do I need to know?
There is a lot of good information available in the "Competitor Information - MUST READ" tab.

I can only attend for part of the competition. Can I do my solves early?
Unfortunately, no. In order to keep the competition running smoothly, we have to stay on schedule.

When do I need to show up?
Look at the schedule on the competition website. You must be present and ready to compete during all events that you are registered for. The schedule is subject to change. We recommend coming about 15-30 minutes before the start of your first event.

Where can I see the results for the competition?
During the competition, live results will be posted on WCA Live (link found in Live Results tab). These results are unofficial. A week or so after the competition, official results will be posted on the WCA website.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST READ THIS TAB BEFORE REGISTERING

For First-Time Competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a fun overview of the rules.

Finally, please be familiar with how to judge at a cubing competition. All competitors will be required to judge in at least one of the events they are competing in. This video gives a basic overview of how to judge, and does include more up-to-date information.

For All Competitors

Before you arrive, you will recieve an email with competition information including your groups for the competition. This could be displayed in one of two ways, either as a pdf or as a website link to competitiongroups.com.
If you recieve a pdf, it will contain multiple competitor cards. Find the card with your name on it, and it will contain personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event, along with judging/scrambling assignments. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look similar to the following:

If you recieve a website link to competitiongroups.com, click on the link (or head to the Groups tab on this website) and login to your WCA account. Then, find the competition and scroll to your name. Your list of groups will look similar to the following:

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

Venue

The competition is in the Hilton Garden Inn Cincinnati/Mason. The competition will take place in the ballroom.

Travel

The hotel is located very close to I-71. Once on I-71, take exit 19 onto Mason-Montgomery Rd. The hotel is in a complex off of Natorp Blvd, which is a side road off of Mason-Montgomery road very slightly north of the highway.

Parking and entrance

There is plenty of parking in the complex in front of the hotel and nearby around other hotels in the complex. To get to the ballroom, enter through the main doors, and turn left once you are in the lobby. Keep going straight and the ballroom will be visible. There will also be a sign in the lobby to guide you to the ballroom.

Apart from the Hilton Garden Inn, there are two other hotels in the same complex; Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Candlewood Suites. Other hotels nearby include Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Drury Inn, and Marriott Cincinnati Northeast, among many others.

The Hilton Garden Inn has a restaurant that will have lunch available for purchase. Their menu is as follows:

Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Pickles, Mayo and Grippo’s Chips: $12
Smashburger with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickle, Cheese and Grippo’s Chips: $12
Caesar Salad: $8
Cheese Pizza by the Slice: $4

An assortment of drinks will be available for sale as well.

This an ideal option for competitors who wish to stay at the venue during lunch, as no outside food or bagged lunch is permitted.

There are also many lunch options nearby. If you wish to leave the venue during lunch to go to one of these places, please note that you will not be allowed to get any food back into the venue.

Nearby lunch options include: Popeyes, Chick-fil-a, Skyline, Wendy's, Five Guys, McDonalds, Arby's, KFC, Taco Bell, Burger King, Chipotle, Panda Express.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
