IMPORTANT: Competitors and guests must show valid proof of one of the following two requirements in order to be allowed in the venue:
1. They are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To clarify, an individual is only considered fully vaccinated if they have received their second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or their only dose of a single-dose vaccine (J&J) more than two weeks before the competition. Any dose received after Sunday, November 21st is insufficient for entering the competition venue.
OR
2. They tested negative for COVID-19 within 96 hours (4 days) of the competition. The date when the test is conducted is what matters, not the date when the results are received. Any test conducted earlier than Wednesday, December 1st is insufficient for entering the competition venue. We must be able to verify the date and the person the test is for (at-home tests are not sufficient).

Along with a full vaccination or negative test document, a valid ID must be shown and checked at the registration desk on the day of the competition. If you are under 18, a parent's ID is sufficient.

If you are unable to provide one of the above, you will not be allowed to enter the venue, and you will not receive a refund.

Please note that the following restrictions will also be in place:

• Competitors may bring at most one guest throughout the entire day (This means you cannot have one guest attend in the morning and a different one in the afternoon).
• Everyone must wear a mask at all times, covering both nose and mouth. The only exception is while eating or drinking. THIS RULE APPLIES TO EVERYONE, EVEN IF YOU ARE VACCINATED.
• Chairs will be pre-arranged to accommodate social distancing. We ask that spectators and competitors do not move chairs and remain seated unless competing or helping with the competition.
• Hand sanitizer will be made available at the venue. Everyone is asked to to sanitize their hands upon entering the venue, and before competing, scrambling, running, or judging at the competition.
• The competition may be cancelled if the COVID situation in the US or MInnesota gets worse.
• If you have COVID, do not feel well, or are instructed to quarantine after close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID, do not attend the competition.
• By registering for this competition, you are agreeing to abide by these restrictions. Competitors who choose not to follow these restrictions will be disqualified and will need to leave the venue.

Risk Management Plan

Cubetcha A 2021 (Saturday, December 4, 2021) and Cubetcha B 2021 (Sunday, December 5, 2021) are "Twin Competitions". This means that competitors may only compete in one of the two competitions. If you have already registered for Cubetcha A 2021, your registration for Cubetcha B 2021 will be rejected.

This allows twice as many people to compete while maintaining social distancing in the venue.

New Competitors:

-Before the competition, watch this great video made by WCA Senior Delegate Kit Clement with the basics of how it all works.
-Also check out this written tutorial on the WCA website to learn about the procedures for competing and judging.
-We encourage first time competitors to test out the timing equipment before your first attempt! Feel free to ask a staff member how competing works.
-The competitors will be split up into groups for competing. You will be assigned a group, which you can find on the Groups Tab.
-On the day of the competition when your group number is called you bring your puzzle up and put it on a scorecard with your name on it and wait in the competitor waiting area until your name is called.
-It's a good idea to arrive before the scheduled time for your event because if you are not there for the last call you might not be allowed to compete.
-Read the "All Competitors" information below.

All Competitors:

-Be familiar with the WCA Regulations!
-We are going to need all the help we can get from volunteers throughout the day to make the competition run well. You may judge in any group that you aren't competing during, in addition to your assigned judging!
-Information about assigned judging will be available around the room; you will be assigned one group of helping for each event you are competing in.
-Parents and spectators are welcome to judge too, it's a great way to have a new experience and be more involved with the event, other than competing!
-If you do not know how to judge all of the staff members are more than happy to teach you.
-Flash photography is NOT allowed because it is very distracting to people while they are solving.
-You must NOT talk about the scrambles of an event while it is still in progress (2g3).
-Make sure all screens of any cameras or phones you have on the table are facing away from you and do not touch them during the attempt, otherwise this will result in a DNF (2i2).
-Please treat the venue with respect, pick up any trash, keep track of your puzzles, and respect other people's puzzles.

We will provide a judging tutorial at the beginning of the day, right before the start of the 3x3 Speedsolving event. This will allow anyone with questions about how to judge to be properly prepared when they are expected to help. We hope that this system will fairly divide up the judging of the competition and make the competition run smoothly for all.

Schedule Changes and Rounds:

-Be aware of regulation A1a3: if we are lacking volunteers or the competition begins to fall behind schedule, we reserve the right to make the limits stricter as needed. We don't want that to happen, so please consider helping out when you aren't competing!
-In regards to later rounds, be aware of regulation 9p3. If you won't be present for a further round you made it to please let us know so we can drop you and move someone else into the round; similarly, if you aren't present when the further round begins we may assume that to be your withdrawal and drop you so the next competitor in the rankings can compete.

If the competition fills up, there will be a waiting list for anybody else that registers. In order to be on the waiting list, you have to have read the COVID Safety tab, register, and pay your registration fee. It is first come first serve for openings. If your registration does not end up being accepted by 6:00pm CST on Saturday November 27 (one week before the competition), you will be refunded your registration fee. Getting on the waiting list does not guarantee that you will make it into the competition.

For each event, competitors are called to compete one group at a time. To facilitate this, all competitors have been assigned to a specific group and timer station for each event. The groups and stations are listed in the "Comp" column in the link below. The group is listed first, followed by the station. For example, 1-5 means the competitor will compete in Group 1, at Station 5.

Judging, running, and scrambling assignments for helping out at the competition are also listed for each competitor.
