This competition is a part of the Cube Against Cancer competition series. To support our mission, please bring at least one unopened 3x3 cube or other STEM-related item, which will be donated to a pediatric cancer patient. Possible STEM toys include LEGOs, other puzzles, Snap Circuits, and anything similar.
Cube Against Cancer is in collaboration with Ethan’s Ohana, a charity founded by Brian Perry in honor of his son Ethan. Ethan battled T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, and during treatment, Ethan learned to solve the cube and became obsessed like all of us. The cube provided great comfort to Ethan during his treatment, but tragically, Ethan lost his battle with cancer on March 25, 2021. Ethan’s Ohana honors his legacy by donating cubes, puzzles, and toys to pediatric cancer patients. You can learn more about Ethan’s Ohana at EthansOhana.org

Cube Again Cancer Greater Boston 2026 organizer, George Fan, was part of the original Cube Against Cancer Houston in 2023 which has led countless cubers to donate at least 1500 cubes to date through various organized efforts. In 2025, competitions expanded across the United States. Throughout the first half of 2026, competitions are being held throughout the world all aiming to provide comfort through cubes and STEM items to cancer patients. To learn more about Cube Against Cancer, please visit CubeAgainstCancer.org.
The donations from this competition will support the oncology unit at Boston Children's Hospital. As part of Cube Against Cancer, we encourage each competitor to bring one brand-new STEM-related toy as a donation. Appropriate donations include Rubik’s Cubes and other twisty puzzles, logic puzzles and brain teasers, building toys such as LEGO® or magnetic tiles, age-appropriate STEM or science kits, puzzle or activity books, educational card or board games, and other small problem-solving or engineering toys. All items must be new and unused; please avoid homemade or used items.
Statement from Boston Children's Hospital representative:
"Your wonderful STEM donations will go to the oncology unit here at Boston Children’s Hospital. We have 30 hematology/oncology beds and 14 bone marrow transplant beds. Our most common procedures are dressing changes (PICC & CVL), NG tube placements, port accesses, and IV placements/lab draws. Often it is nice to have a special prize (such as your donations) to offer to patients after a procedure. On average, our patients are admitted from anywhere from a week to 6+ months, so having fun and stimulating activities to do while in the hospital is so appreciated. We see patients from infancy (~3 months) all the way up to young adulthood (~24 years). We thank you for thinking of our patients and helping to brighten their days."

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is the closest major airport to Marlborough. MBTA Silver Line and Blue Line services are accessible from Logan to the rest of Boston and other areas served by the MBTA. An alternate airport nearby is Worcester Regional Airport (ORH), which is about 30 minutes west.
A number of bus lines (Greyhound, Megabus, etc.) have service to Boston. Consult Google Maps for public transportation from drop-off points.
Amtrak also has service on Acela Express and Northeast Corridor routes to Boston South Station.
Marlborough is not directly served by the MBTA subway or commuter rail. The closest commuter rail stations are Southborough and Westborough on the Framingham/Worcester Line, which you can connect to via downtown Boston at South Station. From these stations, the venue is a short Uber/Lyft ride away.
There is parking available near First Church in Marlborough. More information will be sent out closer to the competition.
This is my first competition, how does it work?
Welcome! We're glad that you'll be joining us!

Yes, you will need to bring your own for each puzzle you're competing in.
How old do I have to be to compete?
