There is a competitor limit of 125 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $25 (Australian Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Payment:
Upon registering you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Brilliant Ballarat 2020 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made.
Please ensure you have paid the registration fees via Stripe on the register page. Your registration will not be processed until you have paid the registration fees. Email the organisation team at support@speedcubing.org.au if you encounter an issue. All registration fees include GST.
Waiting List:
Once the competitor limit has filled, the waiting list will be opened. New registrations will be added to a waitlist and sorted in the order of payment. Waitlisted competitors will only be accepted provided one of the accepted competitors withdraws from the competition. All competitors still on the waiting list after 25/06/2020 will be removed and provided with a full refund. You may enquire about your position on the waiting list by emailing the organisation team at support@speedcubing.org.au.
Deleting Registration/Refunds:
If you can no longer make the competition you may request a refund. To receive a full refund you must email the organisational team at support@speedcubing.org.au by 25/06/2020. Refunds will not be issued after this date for any reason. Withdrawing enables competitors on the waiting list to attend the competition.
Changing Events:
You may change the events you are registered for by emailing support@speedcubing.org.au by 25/06/2020. After this date it is no longer possible to add events. It is also acceptable to not show up for any event you do not wish to compete in.

By car
The competition venue is located at 117 Sturt Street, Ballarat.
Please note there is a new parking system in Ballarat CBD where you can be charged to park - parking restrictions are strictly enforced!
There is free parking available at the train station located on Lydiard street, as well as in Doveton Cresent adjacent to the train station.
Please note that while some streets have free parking, time restrictions may still apply.
By Train
The venue is located approximately 450m from Ballarat Train Station. There is a 7:16 VLine train from Southern Cross Station (7:23 from Footscray Station) that arrives Saturday morning at 8:40.
By Bus
The venue is located 400m from the bus interchnage on Little Bridge Street.

Q. How can I change my events?
You must make any change to your registered events by 25/06/2020. Send an email to support@speedcubing.org.au detailing your event changes.
Q. What time should I arrive at the competition?
You should arrive for registration at 8.30am. You should be at the venue ready to compete 30 minutes before you are scheduled. Please note the schedule is subject to change on the day.
Q. How old do I have to be to compete?
Anyone can compete at any age! We encourage anyone considering to compete to register as it will be a great experience regardless of age.
Q. How fast do I have to be to compete?
To compete you only need to know how to solve the cube! Please check the events tab for information in time limits for each event.
Q. What do I need to know before the competition day?
Before attending you should have read and understood the WCA regulations . We also recommend that you watch this helpful competitor guide and read this competition tutorial. You should also know when your events are scheduled throughout the day.
Q. How do I find out if I've progressed to the second round?
Times will be uploaded through the day. Please allow up to an hour from finishing your solves to them being uploaded. After all the times of a round has been entered, you can see if you are in the following round.

Live Results
Live results will be provided via WCALive. It may take up to an hour between times being set and them appearing online.
3x3x3 Rescramble
For the first time ever in Australia, we will be holding a 3x3x3 Rescramble event. It will be a mean of 3 format with a 3 minute time limit.
You must have a solved cube with you for this event. A scrambled cube will be provided to you under a cube cover. You must start the timer and remove the cover with no timed inspection. You must make the solved cube reach the same position as the scrambled cube before stopping the timer.
This event will be limited to 12 competitors, entry is free for registered competitors.
3x3x3 With Oven Mitts
Just like regular 3x3x3 but with Oven Mitts on your hands. It will be a mean of 3 format with a 3 minute time limit.
This event will be limited to 12 competitors, entry is free for registered competitors. Oven mitts will be supplied.
These extra events will be run in collaboration with Speedcubing Extra Events. You can sign up on the SEE competition page by signing in with your WCA ID. Note that you must also be registered for Brilliant Ballarat 2020 in order to sign up on SEE
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
