Beste cuber,

Na veel overleg in meerdere comités binnen de WCA kunnen we dan eindelijk de oplossing voor het probleem van afgelopen vrijdag delen. De inschrijvingen zullen opnieuw plaatsvinden. Dit zal gebeuren op woensdag 16 juli om 20:00 CEST.

Wat betekent dit?

Alle aanmeldingen tot nu toe zullen binnenkort op de WCA worden verwijderd. Iedereen kan zich dan (opnieuw) aanmelden op woensdag.
Op de WCA website zal deze ook met het systeem worden aangepast. De inschrijving zal dan zoals gewoonlijk verlopen.

Hoe gaat de inschrijving nu in zijn werking?

Woensdag 16 juli om 20:00 CEST meld je je aan voor de wedstrijden waar je aan mee wil doen via de site van de WCA (worldcubeassociation.org).
Als je nog niet betaald hebt bij 1 van de eerdere inschrijfmomenten dien je binnen een uur van inschrijving te betalen.
Indien je afgelopen vrijdag al wel betaald hebt, hoef je je alleen aan te melden via de WCA.

Let op!

Het is belangrijk dat je betaald hebt voor de juiste wedstrijd. Stel je hebt betaald voor Beginner Utrecht maar je meld je nu aan voor Little LeideNxN moet je alsnog betalen voor Little LeideNxN. Het geld van Beginner Utrecht krijg je dan op een later moment terug.

De eerste 50 mensen die zich woensdag inschrijven via de WCA zullen toegelaten worden, mits zij binnen een uur na inschrijving hebben betaald. Als zij na een uur niet hebben betaald, laten wij de eerst volgenden toe die dit wel gedaan hebben.

Als genoeg mensen zich aan hebben gemeld zullen wij de betaalformulieren sluiten, dit om te voorkomen dat wij veel geld kwijt zijn aan de transactiekosten wanneer we iedereen terug moeten betalen. Mocht je dus niet meer kunnen betalen, weet je nu hoe dat komt.

Om af te ronden

Wij willen jullie allen bedanken voor het geduld dat jullie hebben laten zien door deze chaotische situatie heen. Dit gaf ons als organisatie de rust om snel te handelen en goed na te denken.

Ook wil ik via deze weg persoonlijk ons organisatieteam bedanken. Toen het duidelijk werd dat de avond niet zou verlopen zoals we graag wilden, stapten zij direct op om te helpen. Alleen door de snelle hulp van deze mensen heeft de hele situatie nog relatief soepel kunnen lopen. Alle organisatie achter wedstrijden gebeurt vrijwillig, dus deze mensen hielpen direct uit passie voor de hobby. Bedankt daarvoor! ~Rick Hamburger.

Dear cuber,

After much discussion in several committees within the WCA, we can finally share the solution to the issue that occurred last Friday. The registrations will be redone. This will take place on Wednesday, July 16 at 8 PM CEST.

What does this mean?

All registrations already on WCA will soon be removed. Everyone will then be able to (re)register on Wednesday.
The WCA page will update to show registration opening on Wednesday so it will proceed like usual.

How will the registration work now?

On Wednesday, July 16 at 20:00 CEST, you register for the competitions you want to participate in via the WCA website (worldcubeassociation.org).
If you haven’t paid during one of the earlier registration moments, you must pay within an hour of registering.
If you have already paid, you only need to register again via the WCA.

Important!

Make sure you have paid for the correct competition. For example: if you paid for Beginner Utrecht but now register for Little LeideNxN, you will still need to pay for Little LeideNxN. You’ll get a refund for Beginner Utrecht at a later time.

The first 50 people who register via the WCA will be accepted, provided they pay within an hour of registering. If someone doesn’t pay within that hour, we will accept the next person in line who did pay on time.
If enough people have registered, we will close the payment forms. This is to avoid high transaction costs if we have to refund everyone. So if you find you're unable to pay, now you know why.

To wrap up

We want to thank you all for the patience you’ve shown during this chaotic situation. It gave us, as organizers, the space to act quickly and think things through properly.
I would also like to personally thank our organizing team. When it became clear the evening wasn’t going as we had hoped, they immediately stepped in to help. Thanks to their quick response, the situation still ran relatively smoothly. All competition organizing is done on a volunteer basis, so these people helped purely out of love for the hobby. Q: Hoe schrijf ik mij in?
A: Nooit eerder aan een wedstrijd meegedaan? Maak eerst een WCA account aan. Zodra je een account hebt kun je registreren op het tabblad aanmelden .
Als je al een keer eerder hebt meegedaan heb je al een account. Op het tabblad aanmelden kan je je inschrijven.
In beide gevallen: vergeet niet te betalen.

Q: Ik heb mij ingeschreven en ik heb betaald maar ik ben nog niet toegelaten. Hoe zit dat?
A: Deelnemers worden toegevoegd aan de wedstrijd op volgorde van het moment van inschrijven op de WCA website. Het kost wat tijd om iedereen toe te voegen aan de wedstrijd. Als de wedstrijd al vol zit, zetten we je op de wachtlijst. Mocht er voor de deadline nog een plekje vrijkomen dan voegen we vanaf deze lijst weer toe. Kun je niet meer meedoen maar heb je wel betaald? Meld je af voor de dealine en dan storten wij het inschrijfgeld weer terug. Als je op de wachtlijst blijft staan gaat dit automatisch. Het kan zijn, als de wachtlijst groot genoeg is, dat we de betalingen dichtzetten. Alle deadlines zijn te vinden op het informatie tabblad.

Q: Hoe schrijf ik me uit, of verander ik de onderdelen waaraan ik meedoe?
A: Beide kun je doen op het tabblad aanmelden . Om je uit te schrijven moet je op de knop Verwijder aanmelding klikken. Voor het veranderen van je onderdelen klik je op Bijwerken aanmelding. Als je je uitschrijft voor de deadline storten wij het inschrijfgeld weer terug. Ook het veranderen van je onderdelen moet voor een deadline gebeuren. Alle deadlines kun je vinden op het tabblad informatie.

Q: Kan ik komen om te kijken als ik niet mee doe?
A: Absoluut! Komen kijken is gratis en gezellig.

Q: Zijn er verschillende leeftijdsgroepen?
A: Nee. Alle deelnemers zitten in een en dezelfde groep.

Q: Hoe snel moet ik zijn om mee te mogen doen?
A: Als je de kubus op kunt lossen mag je meedoen, maar kijk even naar de onderdelen op het tabblad informatie. Als je over de tijdslimiet gaat, wordt je poging gestopt.

Q: Welke kubus gebruik ik gedurende de wedstrijd?
A: Je gebruikt je eigen kubus. Zorg ervoor dat deze voldoet aan de WCA regels. Als je niet zeker weet of je je kubus mag gebruiken kun je gedurende of voor de wedstrijd een delegate vragen of je kubus voldoet.

Q: Wanneer doe ik mee?
A: Je kunt je persoonlijke schema vinden op competitiongroups.com en op de badge die je aan het begin van de wedstrijd van ons krijgt.

Q: Waar kan ik de resultaten vinden?
A: Gedurende de wedstrijd kun je de resultaten vinden op WCA Live. Na de wedstrijd kun je die resultaten ook terugvinden op je WCA profiel, maar het kan soms even duren voordat ze er staan.

Q: Hoe weet ik wanneer de volgende wedstrijd is?
A: Alle wedstrijden zijn te vinden op de WCA website. Wedstrijden die wij organiseren zijn ook te vinden op de website: https://www.kubuswedstrijden.nl. Je kunt ons ook op Instagram volgen of inschrijven voor de nieuwsbrief om meteen updates te krijgen.

Q: How do I register?
A: First timers: start by creating a WCA account. Once you have created the account you can go to the Register page and register (once it is open).
Non-First timers: log into your WCA account and go to the Register page and register (once it is open).
In both cases: do not forget to pay.

Q: I've registered and paid but I'm not accepted?
A: If you have completed your registration you are on the pending registrations list. From here we accept those that paid in order of the registration time on the WCA website. This is done manually and may take some time. If the competition is full but your registration is complete you will be put on the waiting list. From here, if a spot becomes available before the deadline, you can still be accepted. If not you will not be accepted, but will get a refund. When you no longer wish to participate let us know before the deadline to get a refund. If the waiting list becomes too big we may close the payment form. All deadlines are found on the info page.

Q: How do I delete my registration or change my events?
A: Both can be done on the Register page. For deleting your registration you have to notify us, you can not do this yourself but you can change your events. Q: Can I come to spectate (only)?
A: Yes! There is no fee for spectators.

Q: Are there different age categories?
A: No, all competitors compete in the same group.

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: If you can solve it you are fast enough. But, check out the Events tab on the Info page. If you go over the time limit you will be asked to stop your attempt.

Q: Which cube do I use to compete?
A: You have to bring your own cubes. Please make sure they follow the WCA regulations. If you are unsure you can ask the delegates at the competition or contact us beforehand.

Q: When do I need to compete?
A: You can find your personal schedule a few days before the competiton on competitiongroups.com. At the competition you will also get a printed our personal schedule.
First timers: we also have a competitors tutorial. We highly advise you to follow this not only to learn how to compete, but also how to staff and to ask any questions you might have. Please check the time schedule tab on the info page.

Q: Where do I find the results?
A During the competition you can find live results on WCA Live. After the competition your results will be on your WCA profile.

Q: How do I know when the next competition is?
A: You can keep a close eye on the competitions listed on the WCA website and on https://www.kubuswedstrijden.nl, but you can also subscribe to our mailing list or follow us on Instagram to be notified!

1. Tijschema: Het tijdschema kan soms iets aanpassen tijdens de competitie. Soms lopen we iets voor, soms iets achter. Wees voor de zekerheid 20 minuten van te voren aanwezig in de venue voordat jouw groep begint.
2. Jureren: Iedereen heeft een persoonlijk tijdschema waarop staat aangegeven wanneer je komt helpen judgen/runnen/scramblen. Doe dit aub, anderen doen het ook voor jou. Je bent natuurlijk altijd meer dan welkom om extra te helpen. Ouders, dit geld ook voor jullie, het is makkelijker dan je wellicht denkt en de hulp is altijd erg fijn!
3. Schrijven: Schrijf duidelijk de tijden op en signeer met je competitor ID. Je ID kan je vinden op je badge.

First time competitors

1. Bring some form of ID. This must be an official document, like a passport, an ID card, or a drivers licence.
2. Attend the Tutorial for new competitors. It is listed in the schedule tab on the info page, and is considered a requirement for all new competitors.
3. Read the WCA Regulations. It is a (somewhat) long document and you definitely do not need to know it by heart, but it is good practise to at least have read it once.

For all competitors

1. Schedule: Please note that the schedule can change slighly during the competition. We may be slightly ahead or behind. To be sure: be inside the venue at least 20 minutes before your group is supposed to start.
2. Staffing: Everyone has personal schedules of when to help out judging/running/scrambling. Please show up, others do the same for you. You can of course always help out more than is on your schedule. Parents, if you want to do more than spectate, it is easier than you think and we always appreciate the help!
3. Writing: Please write clearly and sign with your competitor ID. You can find your ID on your badge.

Wat is dit?

Voor deze zomer willen we wat anders proberen: een aantal kleinere, gezellige wedstrijden!

Per wedstrijd hebben we maximaal 50 deelnemers. Dit is een stuk kleiner dan onze gebruikelijke wedstrijden. Hierdoor doen we een aantal dingen anders, zoals bijvoorbeeld de inschrijving, meer daarover hieronder.

Elke wedstrijd zal varieren in de onderdelen. Als het weer het toestaat houden we de wedstrijd buiten.

Inschrijving - tips & tricks

De eerste 50 plekken zitten in Nederland meestal erg snel vol, daarom gaan we de inschrijving net iets anders doen. In plaats van een moment per wedstrijd zal de inschrijving voor alle wedstrijden op hetzelfde moment plaatsvinden. Om je hierbij te helpen hebben we wat tips:
1. Kies jouw favoriete wedstrijd om aan deel te nemen voordat de inschrijving open gaat. Tip: je kan wedstrijden bookmarken om ze makkelijker terug te vinden.
2. Wanneer de inschrijving open gaat, schrijf je dan eerst voor deze in.
3. (optioneel) schrijf je in voor andere wedstrijd(en).
4. Betaal voor de wedstrijden waarvoor je je hebt ingeschreven via het betaalformulier.

Hierna zal je of geaccepteerd zijn als deelnemer van de wedstrijd of op de wachtlijst staan. Als je je voor meerdere wedstrijden hebt ingeschreven, dan kan dit natuurlijk verschillen per wedstrijd. Omdat er dus meerdere inschrijvingen tegelijkertijd gebeuren zal het ons iets langer kosten om alles te verwerken. Dit is namelijk een handmatig proces. We vragen hiervoor jullie geduld. Mocht je toch denken (na een paar uur) dat er iets fout is gegaan, vraag het ons (info@kubuswedstrijden.nl) gerust.

What is this?

For this summer we want to try something different: a couple of smaller competitions with a relaxed vibe!

Each competition will have a 50 person competitor limit. This is a lot smaller than our usual competitions so we will do some things a bit different, for example the registration, more about that below.

Each competition will differ in events. If weather permits the location will be outside.

Registration - tips & tricks

The first 50 spots typically fill quite quickly. Because of this we will handle registration slightly differently. Instead of a seperate moments of registration per competition we will open all of them at the same time. To guide you through this we have some tips:
1) Pick your personal favorite competition to attend before registration opens. Tip: you can bookmark a competition to find it easier.
2) When registration starts register for this one first on WCA.
3) (optional) Register for other competition(s) if you want to.
4) Pay for the competitions you registered for through the payment form.

Afterwards your status will either be "accepted" or you will be placed on a waiting list. If you registered for multiple competitions your status may be different for one compared to another competition. Please be patient in the first few hours of registration opening, because it will take us some time to handle and check everything as this will have to be done manually. However, if you think (after a few hours) we have made a mistake, please do not hesitate to ask us (info@kubuswedstrijden.nl) to be sure.
