Favorites 대회는 2018년 미국 오리건주에서 처음 대중화된 형식으로, 공식적인 용어는 아니지만 WCA 공식 종목 중 대부분 또는 모두를 포함하되, 참가자는 최대 N 개의 종목만 참가할 수 있도록 제한하는 대회를 의미합니다. 이 형식은 짧은 시간 안에 다양한 종목을 경험할 수 있도록 하기 위해 만들어졌습니다. 이러한 대회의 취지를 반영하여, 아래 내용을 끝까지 꼼꼼히 읽어 주시기 바랍니다. 기존에 대회 참가 경험이 있는 참가자라 하더라도, 이번 대회는 일반적인 대회와는 다른 특별한 조건을 따릅니다.

1. 참가자는 최대 4개 종목까지만 참가 신청할 수 있습니다. 4개를 초과하여 신청할 경우, 해당 참가 신청은 승인되지 않습니다.
2. 현재 공개된 일정은 확정 일정이 아니며, 참가 신청 종료 후 조정될 예정입니다.
3. 3x3x3 큐브 종목만 2라운드가 보장됩니다. 다만, 참가자 수와 당일 일정 여유에 따라 다른 종목에도 추가 라운드가 배정될 수 있습니다.
4. 참가 종목 변경을 원할 경우, 2026년 1월 10일(토) 오후 9시(GMT+9) 이전까지 참가 신청(Register) 탭에서 직접 수정할 수 있습니다. 단, 최대 4개 종목까지만 신청할 수 있으므로 이미 4개 종목을 신청한 상태에서 종목을 추가하려면 다른 종목 하나를 취소해야 합니다. 위 시각 이후에는 어떠한 종목 변경도 허용되지 않습니다.

Popularized in the Oregon, United States in 2018, a Favorites competition is an unofficial term for a competition that has most or all WCA recognized events, but competitors may only register for a maximum of a few events. This is done to give a region a taste of every event in a short amount of time. In an effort to mimic the efforts of those competitions, please read through this tab in its entirety. For those who have competed in the past, this competition will be following unique conditions compared to other competitions.

1. Competitors may only register for a maximum of 4 events. If you register for more than 4 events, your registration will not be approved.
2. The current schedule is not final, and will be adjusted after registration closes.
3. 3x3 is the only event guaranteed to have a second round, but other events may also have an extra round added based on the number of registrants and if there is time left at the end of the day.
4. If you would like to change your events, you can do so in the Register tab on or before Saturday, January 10, 2026, 9:00 PM GMT+9. Keep in mind that you can only register for 4 events, so if you want to add an event and have already registered for 4 events, you will need to drop another one in the process. No event changes will be allowed after Saturday, January 10, 2026, 9:00 PM GMT+9.

Q. 대회 참가 자격이 어떻게 되나요?

Q. 신청했는데 제 이름이 명단에 보이지 않습니다. 왜 그런가요?
A. 신청 직후에는 대기자 명단에 먼저 등록되며, 참가자 명단으로의 승인은 운영진이 수동으로 진행합니다. 참가 신청 후 3일이 지나도 이름이 보이지 않는다면 KoreaCubeCultureUnited@gmail.com으로 문의하시기 바랍니다. 또한, 참가 신청은 선착순으로 진행되며, 인원 제한으로 인해 신청이 승인되지 않을 수 있습니다. 참가 확정 안내 이메일을 받았는지 반드시 확인하십시오.

Q. 신청 종목을 추가하거나 삭제할 수 있나요?
A. 가능합니다. WCA 신청 페이지에서 직접 수정할 수 있습니다.

Q. 신청 종목 변경은 언제든 가능한가요?
A. 아닙니다. 신청 종목 변경 가능 기간은 일반 탭 하단에 명시되어 있으며, 공지된 기간 외에는 변경할 수 없습니다.

Q. 대회에 참가하지 못하게 되었습니다. 참가 신청을 취소할 수 있나요?
A. 가능합니다. WCA 신청 페이지에서 직접 취소할 수 있습니다. 환불은 신청 취소 후 1주일 내 처리되며, 카드사 및 은행 사정에 따라 지연될 수 있습니다.

Q. 언제든 신청을 취소하면 환불받을 수 있나요?
A. 아닙니다. 환불 가능 기간은 일반 탭 하단에 명시되어 있으며, 해당 기간 내에 환불 요청을 해야 환불이 가능합니다.

Q. 대회 전에 어떤 준비를 하면 좋을까요?
A. 공인 대회에 처음 참가하시는 경우 이 영상을 참고하면 도움이 됩니다. 스태프로 처음 배정된 경우 이 영상을 참고하시기 바랍니다.

Q. 제가 출전하는 종목은 대회 일정상 첫 종목이 아닙니다. 그래도 첫 종목 시작 시각에 맞춰 가야 하나요?
A. 아닙니다. 자신이 출전하는 종목의 첫 라운드 시작 시각 15분 전까지 도착하시면 됩니다.

Q. 제 참가 순서를 어떻게 알 수 있나요?
A. 대회장 입구에서 체크인을 마치면 명찰을 받게 되며, 명찰 뒷면에 개인 일정표가 표시되어 있습니다. 일정표에서 자신의 참가 조와 스태프 업무 일정을 확인할 수 있습니다. 참가 조별로 선수와 스태프가 호명되므로, 안내 방송을 주의 깊게 들어야 합니다. 선수의 부주의로 참가 조를 놓친 경우, 해당 종목의 기록을 측정할 수 없습니다.

Q. 대회가 끝날 때까지 반드시 남아 있어야 하나요?
A. 본인의 모든 참가 종목과 배정된 스태프 업무를 마쳤다면 퇴장해도 됩니다. 다만, 퇴장 전 WCA Live에서 본인의 기록이 정확히 입력되었는지 확인하시기 바랍니다.

Q. WCA Live에서 기록이 잘못되었거나 제 이름이 보이지 않습니다. 어떻게 해야 하나요?
A. 현장에서 주최 측에 문의하시면 기록지 및 증거 자료 확인 후 정정이 가능합니다. 기록은 수동으로 갱신되므로, 웹사이트에 표시되기까지 시간이 걸릴 수 있습니다.

Q. 대회장에서 사진이나 영상을 찍을 수 있나요?
A. WCA 규정을 위반하지 않는 한 자유롭게 촬영할 수 있습니다. 본인의 솔브를 촬영할 경우 녹화 화면이 자신에게 보이지 않도록 하고, 선수를 촬영할 때는 WCA 규정 7b에 따라 1.5미터 이상 떨어진 거리에서 촬영해야 합니다. 플래시는 절대로 사용해서는 안 됩니다.

Q. 스태프 배정을 받지 않았지만 도와주고 싶습니다.

Q. Who is eligible to participate in the competition?
A. Anyone who can solve a cube can participate, regardless of gender, nationality, or age. However, there may be restrictions related to records depending on the competition, so please make sure to check the relevant information in the Events tab before registering.

Q. What are the competition regulations?
A. You can check WCA regulations here. All competitors are strongly encouraged to be familiar with the WCA Regulations before the competition!

Q. Will the organizers provide cubes?
A. No. All participants must bring their own cubes.

Q. When and how can I register?
A. Detailed registration information can be found at the bottom of the General tab. WCA competitions held in South Korea often fill up quickly, so please register at the start time.

Q. I am new to official competitions. Is there a guide?
A. For first-time participants, we have prepared a Competition Registration Manual. Please refer to it.

Q. I registered but my name does not appear on the list. Why?
A. After registration, you are first added to the Waitlist, and approval to the competitors list is done manually by the organizers. If your name does not appear within three days, please contact KoreaCubeCultureUnited@gmail.com. Also, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and approval may not be granted due to participant limits. Please make sure you have received the confirmation email.

Q. Can I add or remove events after registering?
A. Yes. You can do so in to the WCA register page and modify your registration.

Q. Can I change my registered events at any time?
A. No. The period during which you can change events is listed at the bottom of the General tab. Changes cannot be made outside the announced period.

Q. I cannot attend the competition. Can I cancel my registration?
A. Yes. You can cancel your registration directly on the WCA register page. Refunds are processed within one week, although bank or card processing may take longer.

Q. Can I get a refund if I cancel at any time?
A. No. Refund eligibility is listed at the bottom of the General tab. You must request a refund within the specified period.

Q. What should I prepare before the competition?
A. If you are attending an official WCA competition for the first time, watching this video will be helpful. If you are assigned as staff for the first time, this video will help you understand your staff duties.

Q. My event is not the first on the schedule. Should I still arrive at the start time of the first event?
A. No. You only need to arrive at the venue 15 minutes before your first event begins.

Q. How can I know my turn to compete?
A. After checking in at the venue entrance, you will receive a nametag with your personal schedule on the back. You can check your assigned group and staff duties on the schedule. Participants and staff will be called by group, so please pay attention to announcements. If you miss your group due to negligence, you will not be eligible to compete in the event you missed.

Q. Do I need to stay at the venue until the competition ends?
A. Once you have completed all your events and any assigned staff duties, you may leave. However, it is recommended to check your results on WCA Live before leaving.

Q. My results on WCA Live are incorrect or my name does not appear. What should I do?
A. Please contact the organizers on-site. They can verify score sheets or evidence and correct results. Results are updated manually, so it may take time for your results to appear online.

Q. Can I take photos or videos at the competition?
A. Yes, as long as it does not violate WCA regulations. When recording your own solves, ensure that the screen is not visible to you. When filming other participants, maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters as specified in WCA Regulation 7b. DO NOT USE FLASH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Q.I am not assigned as staff but want to help.
A. Thank you for your interest. On the competition day, please ask the organizers. If possible, you will be allowed to assist as staff.

Q. I want to spectate the competition.
A. Generally, official WCA competitions organized by the KCCU do not charge an spectator fee or limit the number of spectators. You may spectate freely on the competition day. Some competitions may have restrictions depending on the venue or nature of the event.

• As WCA competitions are official, internationally recognized events, all competitors must use their names written in the Latin alphabet.
• If you have a passport, please use the same spelling as written on your passport, and you may include your local name alongside your English name. Capitalization can be used to distinguish syllables, and hyphens may be used between names, as shown in the examples below. (Examples: GilDong Hong, Hong GilDong, Hong Gil Dong, Gil-Dong Hong, etc.)
