COVID-19 FAQ

Q. What COVID safety protocols will be in place?
Our COVID safe plan involves an increased focus on hand hygiene and maintaining social distancing where possible. There will be an increased cleaning regime, and attendees will be required to check-in to the venue aid in contact tracing. If you have any cold or flu symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, etc.) you must NOT come to the venue.

Q. Will there be an attendee limit at this competition?
We have removed the limit of one spectator per competitor. You are now permitted to bring along any number of guests, however everyone will still be required to check in upon arrival with a QR code or pen and paper, which will be at the registration table. We will of course ensure that the venue capacity is not breached, but there is now more than enough space to make this change.

Q. Will hand sanitiser be provided at the competition?
Yes. Upon entering the venue there will be a personal hygiene station equipt with a supply of hand sanitiser.

Q. Do I have to wear a face mask?
Face masks are not compulsory but you are welcome to wear one if you wish.

Q. Can I bring my own face mask and/or hand sanitiser?
Yes, it is recommended that you bring your own face mask and hand sanitiser bottle. Hand sanitiser will also be provided at the venue.

Q. Will the scramblers be putting slippery hand sanitiser on my cubes?
Nope! Before handing in your cubes for each round you will be able to spray your cube with a light spray of disinfectant, which should dry quickly before you even hand your puzzle in.

Q. Can I still borrow other peoples' cubes?
We advise against the sharing of puzzles. Please make sure your cubes are legal for competition, especially for events such as 3x3 blindfolded (no logos!). All of the information regarding cube legality can be found in the WCA Regulations. If you are unsure about this please don't hesitate to contact Speedcubing Australia with any questions.

Q. Where can I ask other questions?
