All competitions starting today (April 14, 2010) must use this new version of the regulations. Most important changes are: = Preferred format for Megaminx is now 'Average of 5'. Other changes for competitors: = Stricter rules for timer malfunctions. Timer shows 0.01 - 0.05: extra attempt (unless intentional by competitor). Timer shows 0.06 or higher: DNF (unless reproducible malfunctioning). = Puzzles with textures or painted colours are now accepted. = Blindfolded: Competitors must bring their own blindfold. = Fewest moves: Solutions maximum 80 moves and/or rotations. = Magic: No practice solves on timer. Other changes for competition organisers: = WCA delegate is now responsible for providing the scrambles. = Improved scramble programs. = At least 25% of competitors must not proceed to round.
