A3d2) When the inspection time reaches 12 seconds, the judge calls 'STOP'. But in the revision history, it has. Art. A3d2, changed STOP to GO. [already common habit]

May as well post here. What's the point of: [quote="WCA regulations":1pvr441m]9f3) All counted results and averages/means are measured in natural numbers, with averages/means rounded to the nearest tenth (x.04 becomes x.0, x.05 becomes x.1).[/quote:1pvr441m] Specifically the part about averages and rounding, the part after the comma. Are there any counted results that take averages? This rule apparently caused some confusion while translating into Chinese. Is this needed, or might likely be needed in the future? Should it be removed otherwise?

Wait wait... "natural numbers"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the natural numbers the subset {1, 2, 3...} basically positive integers?

Either way, it does contradict itself: (averages/means are measured in natural numbers) vs (averages/means rounded to the nearest tenth).

Small errors: 10a doesn't exist 11c doesn't exist A4a doesn't exist A4c doesn't exist formatting on 2k6 formatting on 6b1 formatting on 9e4 formatting on 9o1 and 9o2 formatting on 10g1 Are 12a4, 12a8, 12a12, 12a16 and 12b4 really necessary?

[quote:3tqqnj8i]Art. A3d2, changed STOP to GO. [already common habit][/quote:3tqqnj8i] Yes, somehow that wasn't changed in 2008. I updated it in 2009 draft 1. [quote:3tqqnj8i]Small errors: 10a doesn't exist 11c doesn't exist A4a doesn't exist A4c doesn't exist formatting on 2k6 formatting on 6b1 formatting on 9e4 formatting on 9o1 and 9o2 formatting on 10g1 [/quote:3tqqnj8i] Articles are not renumbered after an article is removed. That is why some articles are missing. [quote:3tqqnj8i]Are there any counted results that take averages? [/quote:3tqqnj8i] For some competitions there was an average of 2 for Fewest moves. There may be other events in the future. Is there something that needs to change in 9f3? Please advise. Ron 2k6, 9e4 formatting is intentional. 6b1 corrected in 2009 draft 1. 9m/9n/9o1 renumbered and reformatted in 2009 draft 1. 10g1 reformatted in 2009 draft 1. [quote:3tqqnj8i]Are 12a4, 12a8, 12a12, 12a16 and 12b4 really necessary?[/quote:3tqqnj8i] Some people like them because they express how the move is actually performed. Ron

3e) Cube puzzles must either have coloured stickers or coloured tiles. that should say "All puzzles" or simply "puzzles", right?

what I had in mind were megaminx/pyraminx/other non-cubical puzzles
Erik (2008-12-25 11:21:41 +0000)
Wouldn't it be better to change that into: "twisty" puzzles?
