Dear WCA Community,

We are happy to announce that Duncan Hobbs will become the new Leader of the WCA Software Team (WST). Duncan was already a Senior Member on the team.

Duncan was selected by the WCA Board and approved in a vote, as described in Section 5 of our Motion about WCA Committees and Teams. This appointment is effective as of November 1, 2026.

We thank Gregor Billing, who will remain as a Senior Member of WST, for his substantial contributions to the WCA as WST Leader since 2021, and wish Duncan the best of luck in fulfilling his new duties.
