Dear WCA Community,

The WCA Major Championships Team (WMCT) regrets to announce that the WCA Asian Championship 2026 will not take place.

After the update made in March, the WMCT and the WCA Board explored other possibilities for an alternative 2026 Asian Championship location. These conversations were ultimately unsuccessful, resulting in the unfortunate cancellation of the competition entirely.

We understand the disappointment that this announcement brings, and especially apologize to competitors living in Asia, who will not have a continental championship in their region in 2026.

Hosting a successful Asian Championship in 2028 is a top priority for the WMCT, and we are revising our processes to ensure the stability of our major championships moving forward. The WMCT would like to express our commitment to bringing a high-quality championship experience to our Asian speedcubing community in 2028 and beyond.
