WRC received some pictures that showed a cover made of thin white plastic that at some angles could provide some information about the scrambled states of puzzles. However, the WCA Delegates showed the WRC that they had stacked two covers one above the other in order to make them non-translucent and that some single covers were opaque enough to ensure scramble secrecy.
WRC reviewed the video evidence from the public resources and agreed that the results should be kept. While this is not the safest way to cover the puzzles, the organizers and the WCA Delegates did ensure scramble secrecy by double stacking the covers.
Advice for the Community and Organizers:
Scramble secrecy is an extremely important and delicate matter. If you ever have any concern regarding scramble secrecy during a competition, the safest thing to do is to address the issue with the WCA Delegates of the competition. Breaches in the scramble secrecy may result in the removal of the affected rounds/attempts.
