A competitor did not solve their puzzle successfully in 3x3x3 Blindfolded. After their attempt was completed it was noticed that the attempt was performed on a timer that had not been reset.
WRC decided that the events in this incident should be evaluated in the order in which they happened, with earlier violations taking precedence over later ones. Since the judge failed to reset the timer (a violation of B2a) before the competitor attempted to stop the timer with an unsolved puzzle, an extra should be granted to the competitor, even if during their attempt the competitor was not aware that their timer was not running.
If an extra would only be granted if the first attempt was a success, the competitor would have to get two successful results in a row to get a non-DNF result.
