Incident: Competitor's scorecard went missing

Status: Resolved

AnsanSummer2024

Incident description and resolution:

A competitor competed in the 3x3 OH event, but later recognized that their results had not been entered. After searching the venue, the scorecard remained missing. The competitor was not suspected of deliberately misplacing their scorecard, so after discussion amongst delegates, it was agreed to grant the competitor provisional extra attempts. The competitor initially preferred to have their results marked as a DNS, but later agreed to complete the extra attempts.

The WRC ruled that since the provisional extras were completed at the competition, the extras must be used. If there were no results available, then a DNS would have been appropriate.

As an important note: if a competitor's scorecard goes missing at no fault of their own, then they are entitled to an extra, and one should be provided. Competitors then have the option of choosing to complete these extras or to DNS them.
