Stricter enforcement of 9m subregs?

9m) Events must have at most four rounds. * 9m1) Events with 99 or fewer competitors must have at most three rounds. * 9m2) Events with 15 or fewer competitors must have at most two rounds. * 9m3) Events with 7 or fewer competitors must have at most one round. Last weekend at the Caltech Spring 2011 competition there was 2 rounds of Square-1 even though the first round only had 7 competitors, a direct violation of 9m3. This is not the first time this has happened, a while back the same thing happened at a Polish Competition, though I can't find which one since the second round has already been annulled. I don't know if the delegates didn't know about, forgot about, or chose to ignore this regulation, but a reminder email to all delegates and upcoming organizers would be helpful. Also I think the annulment of the second round of Square-1 at Caltech Spring 2011 is in order.

Seconded. I didn't see the incident, but 2nd round results should be invalid, since the 2nd round couldn't exist at all.

I'd actually like if the rules themselves were revised to be more lax.

In a scenario where there's an event with 8 competitors, would you permit a second round to take place if the 8th competitor gets "DNF" for all their solves in the first round? Tim.

A second round with less than 8 non-DNFs in the first is not against the rules, and has already happened many times at 3BLD...
