In Memoriam: Thibaut Kirchner

On Friday October 17, 2008 our fellow WCA member Thibaut Kirchner died in a traffic accident. Thibaut was on his way to a meeting point to travel together to Dutch Open 2008, when he was hit by a bus. Thibaut was 20 and a mathematics student at Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, France. He competed in three WCA competitions in Paris, Nantes and Brussels. His good friend François Courtès describes Thibaut as "a really friendly person, with lots of centers of interest and always passionnate in what he did. When he got into cubing last March, he really got deeply into it, and he was constantly improving." Our thoughts and sympathy go out to his family and friends. Ron van Bruchem WCA Board

I know for sure we will all miss Thibaut. I met him in Brussels and he was an incredibly friendly guy. Rest in peace, dear friend. Tobias Daneels

Rest in piece Thibaut, I only met you once at the brussels summer open. You were very friendly and a genuine nice person. My support to all of your closest friends and family.
