Times over cut-off not considered DNF's

Okay so here's something to talk about. I just went to my first competition (vos2014) and it was a lot of fun. Except the cut off for BLD solves (3x3BLD) was stupid and I didn't compete because I knew if I got over 5 minutes it would just be a DNF and a waste of time. So, take a look here: https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/re ... 2014#333bf Screenie: http://prntscr.com/4h8pie Vineethsubbu Somasundaram's 3x3BLD time is 5:22.30. And you should know that's over 5 minutes. WCA Regualtions (Article A, Speedsolving): "A1a4) The competitor must end each solve within the time limit. If a competitor reaches the time limit for a solve/round, the judge stops the attempt immediately and records the result as DNF. Exception: Multiple Blindfolded Solving (see Regulation H1b1)." (https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/regulations/#A1a4) Screenie: http://prntscr.com/4h8pws It's also worth note-ing (excuse my spelling) non of the judges "stopped the attempt immediately." The cut off time is on the schedule, here: http://canadiancubing.com/Event/VOS2014 (http://canadiancubing.com/Event/VOS2014/Schedule) Screenie: http://prntscr.com/4h8q7n I realize I have made a big deal about hardly anything. But it's really stupid how I didn't compete in an event, because of the cut off, and it wasn't even enforced. Thanks. Jason.

Hi Jason, Obviously this is a judge mistake. You should talk with the organisers and delegates to sort this out. And you better know that the time limit may have been changed just before the event started, organisers may have realised that such a limit was useless or something. Have a nice day, Gaël

Hi Gaël. The cut off time remained 5 minutes through-out the competition because the schedule was printed on the wall and it still said 5 miuntes. But I will email the competition. Thanks.
