The WRC would like to add Kit Clement to the WRC. There are many Delegates and competitors familiar with the Regulations, but Kit has done a lot of work in improving the Regulations. In particular, he has been very active on the Delegate list and the speedsolving.com forum, and has contributed concrete suggestions on GitHub. His contributions have also been very neutral and rational. As a first task, the WRC would like to put Kit in charge of revisiting all of Article 3 (Puzzle Regulations). It's clear that the attempted cleanup for the 2014 Regulations was not well-received by the community, but switching to a more open policy is not as simple as rewording a few Regulations. Kit has already agreed to work on this task, starting from the "big picture". (Joining the WRC is not necessary for this task, but it allows us to be confident that Kit has the authority to follow through with a concrete revision by the end of the year.) There is currently no official process for admitting candidates to the WRC, but given the public concern about the Regulations we'd like to announce this intended appointment before officially adding Kit to the team.
