Competitions in the Caribbean??

Hello, my name is José. I am new to the WCA forum. I have been passionate about speedcubing for the past few months, and I find it very fun. I have been told many times that If I had the chance, I should participate in a Cubing Competition, whether I'm good enough or not, just so I could gain some experience and make new peers. Problem is: I don't have the chance. I live in Puerto Rico, a small island in the Caribbean, that politically belongs to the US. Every time I have ever checked competition lists, I've never seen a competition being held in my island, or anywhere in the entire Caribbean for that matter. I don't know how easy it is to set up one of these competitions, but what I do know is that I would be incredibly happy if there were one here. I know I'm not the only guy in the whole island who speedcubes; I've met many people who can solve the cube (casual solving or speedsolving) or who used to speedsolve in many different places here in the island. I'm not saying that there is a whole legion of speedsolvers here, but what I am saying is that I'm positive that there is a group of people here that would appreciate the experience of having a cubing competition. For that to happen, though, I'm faced with two problems: a. There has never been a single competition here (as mentioned before) nor an attempt to make one. b. I don't know how the word would be spread if there were to be one here. All I'm saying is, don't forget the Caribbean islands, especially one like Puerto Rico, which is part of the U.S. and not an entirely different country. I'd love the chance to compete, even though I'd probably get destroyed :P. I understand that the delegate for my region technically is Tyson Mao (if the Caribbean is considered to be part of the Americas. If not, we have no delegate.). So, if any of you who are in charge can see a future chance for competitions in the Carib, I'd be happy. I don't know how you guys promote these things, so if there were to be one, what would you guys do to let the people know? But now I'm getting ahead of myself. So... yeah.
